TOPIC: How do you organize your tokens?

How do you organize your tokens? 15 years 9 hours ago #1

So i now have a lot of tokens rolling around in bags and bought some of those sheets to organize them in. Do people find it better to organize them by token type: armor, melee weopons, ranged weopons, scrolls, etc. Or better to have a sheet of the best stuff for each class- a sheet it i play a druid, a sheet if i play a ranger, etc.

Just curious how some of the Pros i see walking around with HUGE binders full of tokens do it. Thanks.

As someone who typically outfits an entire party I can give you my perspective:

I have a binder of 4-8 sheets per character type. Each character is customized with their appropriate "tools". The first page is typically dedicated to those things one can wear/wield (armor, gloves, weapons, cloaks, helms, etc.). Page 2 is basic gear (ropes, mirror, backpack, turkey legs, etc) plus MW ammo. Page 3 is basic healing and extra saves (skunkweed, belladona, anti-toxin, cure minor, rations, berries, etc.). Page 4 is miscellaneous (extra healing, bull's strength, dust of appearance, +1/+2 ammo, etc.)

Mage gets a couple of sheets of scrolls
Bard gets a sheet of scrolls
Druid/Cleric gets a couple of sheets of scrolls/potions which are for condition removal and extra healing

Thats the basics for a team. Each year the folder gets a little bigger as new tokens are added.

At True Realm last year, I played as a single. I had a slightly different setup. I started with the Druid folder (same as Cleric, both have the most tokens). I added the specific armor and weapons from the fighter, barbarian, ranger, cleric and rogue. Also, stuff like MW Thieves tools, Holy Symbpl of Pelor. All that added up to an additional page. This gave me the flexibility to play everything but wizard, bard, and monk which I didn't want to for various reasons.

Hope this helps

Jim

I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a bunch of $1.99 craft organizers. I have 1 for gold, 1 for "Rares and Good Stuff", 1 for scrolls and wands (I play Wiz) and 1 with a bunch of (un)common utility stuff. When I go into the dungeon I have a shoulder bag (bought from a military supply store, so I don't look like I am carrying a purse) that I carry my tokens in. I also went to a local bait shop and bought a couple of "sinker separators" made by Plano. They are 6 compartment stacks, and I carry all my tokens organized in these (1 for healing, 1 for equipped items, 1 for tools/misc). I also have a bag that TD gives out at GC for each class.

How do you fit 32-64 sheets of tokens into one binder? I've got maybe 20 and it's packed. =)

This is more for storage than sorting (though it helps). We like these:

www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DCJ5IC
Clear Storage Boxes for Poker Chips Holds 500 Chips

We originally sorted the tokens by type first, then rarity second, but found that difficult for bulk token storage. We will probably resort by rarity first, then type second.

We keep our most important (read: must find quickly to prepare for TD) tokens somewhat separate from these.

For storage I use bead boxes. I just bought a bunch more this week

www.darice.com/ecom/ProductDetails.aspx?it=10762&oid=23524

Sorry for the confusion, eight binders, which are thick enough to stuff a fair sized backpack (with wheels). Any bigger and I'm going to have to go to a carry-on sized piece of luggage (with wheels of course).

Jim
OK, that makes more sense. I have fitted all 9 character classes (no Monk) into one binder, trying to limit it to one page per class, although some are now at two pages. I have two pages of consumables - that might have to go to one. I try to use as many wooden tokens as possible, to make the binder lighter (and because I like the old-school wooden tokens), but there are fewer and fewer wooden tokens each year that make the cut - pretty much proof of the Power Creep that has been taking place in tokens.

www.whitmanbooks.com/Default.aspx?Page=81&ProductID=8HRS2822

You can get these at hobby lobby. They are nearly identical the ones I ordered from True Dungeon.
