TOPIC: Runestone Question

Quick question, how do runestones work? Do you have to have a runestone fitting base to use them?

From page 88 of the Token Guide :

Runestones are single use items that are turned in at the beginning of the adventure to your coach. The effect will be added to your overall stats. Only one Runestone may be used per adventure. However, up to two additional Rare Runestones can be attached to one weapon (per adventure) if the player possesses a Runestone Fitting Base (per runestone) and presents it at the beginning of the adventure with the additoinal rare runestone(s) of choice. Attaching the Rare Runestone still requires the player to turn in the Rare runestone token, but the Runestone Fitting Base token is not turned in.

Ah, glad I read this thread. For some reason, I had been under the impression that the Runestone Fitting Base allowed the use of up to 2 rare runestones. The reality seems to be that it can only be used for 1 runestone, but that up to 2 runestones can be used in this way per adventure (assuming one has 2 Runestone Fitting Bases).

The runestone fitting base is a cool token that is often misunderstood!

I have had multiple coaches treat the runestone fitting base differently. (of course the ruling form the Token Guide copied above is the correct one...)

But I've been told by coaches:

1. If you have one runestone fitting base you may use two additional rare runestones in an adventure (for a total of three).

2. If you have a runestone fitting base you must choose a single ranged weapon for the runestones to apply to.

and my favorite:
3. If you have a runestone fitting base you may use a rare runestone without turning it (the runestone) in. Unfortunately, I was too honest to not turn in my runestone to this coach...
