Greetings! I was looking up the Scepter of (the) Stirge in the Online Token Database (
tokendb.com/token/1-scepter-of-the-stirge/
) and noted this description:
"+1 Scepter of the Stirge
This weapon was alchemically crafted using Stirge Spittle during the quenching process. An attack made with this weapon will heal the wielder 1 HP
if a natural 20 is slid on the combat board. It will not increase the character’s maximum HP.
The healing effect of this weapon is triggered by sliding a natural 20. It does not require a critical hit. Thus it will still function when fighting undead, constructs, or any creature which is immune to critical hits or sneak attacks."
This is the first time I've ever seen anything about the Scepter requiring a natural 20 to hit. I've done my due diligence and researched the forums and haven't found any discussion about such a change in functionality. I've also looked it up in the 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 Token Guides and none of the token descriptions mention requiring a natural 20 to hit. Here's the description from the 2013 Token Guide:
"Scepter of the Stirge, +1: This weapon was alchemically crafted using Stirge Spittle during the quenching process. When wielded, each successful attack (hit) will cure the user one hit point (+1) to health up to the player's normal maximum."
So, can we assume the Online Token Database entry is in error? I would certainly hope that is the case!
Sean
