TOPIC: Medallion of Heroism, worth it?

Medallion of Heroism, worth it? 11 years 8 months ago #1

I currently have the wind set, +4 ring of Reflexes, and ring of warning. I just got a Medallion of Heroism in a 10 pack, would this be worth using instead of the Wind bonus and Rings? I am focusing on a Fighter / Paladin build. I think it would be worth it for the Paladin, but maybe not the fighters?

Full Build:
+1 Silver Bastard Sword
Defender Shield/ Shield of the Tinkerer
Double Barrel Blunder Cannon
Archer's Buckler
Great Helm
Amulet of the Wind
Cloak of the Wind
Shirt of Health
Powered Plate Mail
Bracelets of the Tinkerer
Gauntlets of Ogre Power
Ring of Warning
Ring of Reflexes
Ale Drinker's Belt
Boots of the North Wind
Ioun Stone Copper Cube
Ioun Stone Beryl Prism
Ioun Stone Emerald Cube
Charm of Good Fortune
Earcuff of Intellect
Earcuff of the Wind

The Wind set gives you feather fall, immunity to normal missles, Ammulet gives immunity to hindrances but so does the emerald stone so thats a wash, rings give +4 reflex save and -2 trap damage

Vs
Fighter - +10 HP, +1 str , and a reslide

Paladin - +9 HP, +1 str, +3hp heal, extra remove disease and sacrafice.

For Lycans, Id go 5th level paladin but your going to have to change weapons, probably to a +1 silver heavy mace

For Golembane, Id go for the 4th level fighter. The chances to fall from the tower are greater and the Reflex save will probably make up for the HP. Add a Wicked charm for the +1 str for more damage.

If your run/s are Puzzle based, there is a greater chance for damage to be taken, keep that in mind. Look into completing the Defender set, as it provides great AC and immunity to Hold, Slow, and other hindrances. Just the Helm will give you +1 to saves.

Yep, yep! Red Defender set is great. Well worth tracking down, and since it was in the 2012 collection, prices should be good.

+1 level is nice for everyone, but really shines on the casters. Since you already have it, I'd recommend using it for the extra HP and ability. if you're certain on your class, perhaps see about trading the Medallion for a nice UR weapon- the Dwarven Dire Axe is a tough one to beat.

Thanks!, no problem switching out for the mace. Also I just ordered the last piece of the defender set that I needed. Too bad the set bounus is just +1 instead of +2.

I'll plan a Level 5 for the Lycan run and 4th for the Golem run.

Also, pick up Bracers of Fire from someone. They're so good for melee classes.

I have the Bracers of Fire, Belt of Ogre Power, Defender Helm ordered. The more I look at what others have for sale the more I want to buy. I was not expecting this to get so addicting so quickly.

I'll look into trading the MoH for an UR, or I may work towards changing it into a Charm.

Just keep telling yourself you can quit anytime you want. :D

I would advise trading the MOH for a different UR or selling it - it is a component to making the much better Charm of Heroism and as such it will fetch top dollar between now and the end of the year. Also MOH won't do you much good on the level you'll be playing at - there is no need for you to play a 5th Level character, cool as that may be.... Wiser to trade it or sell it. I actually recommend selling it, you should get anywhere from $115 to $150 for it if sold on Ebay. $ you can then use to buy more Red (rare) items and transmuted items to help your build(s).

Now I have this +2 Dwarven Dire Axe stuck in my head... Would it be more cost effective to order another set of 250 and pick the ax with hopes to get another UR or material to make up the cost difference of buying the ax by itself, or should I just for for the ax? I have already purchased 2x 250 packs this year.

+2 Dwarven Dire Axe is probably the best one-handed weapon in the game. Getting that extra UR out of just 2 $250 packs is really, really lucky. Don't count on it if you order another.

If you do decide you want to just buy the +2 Dwarven Dire Axe, I do have one for sale.

Ooh, that's gonna leave a mark. :P

It is an awesome token. It was my first purple and was well worth it.
