TOPIC: Kvothe's Bloodless Question

I'm trying to get a gauge on how useful Kvothe's Bloodless will be. I don't recall many spells or missile attacks by monsters in recent years. Maybe some DM's, or forum folk who have read through the modules could assist in this. How often in the last, say, 5 years have monsters attacked with missiles or spells, which would be affected by Kvothe's Bloodless?

Another question that just occurred to me - how often has there been retribution damage, that would be stopped by the Shirt of Shielding? I outfitted the entire party with them as soon as they were available, and I don't think they have helped us once. We've gotten several damages which I'd think were retribution damage, but in all the cases the DM's said they weren't in fact retribution damage. I'm leaning heavily towards swapping them out for next year, as they seem pretty useless.

I should clarify that I'm interested in date from the Dungeons, not from Grind.

I suspect I'm still fighting yesterday's wars, and need to swap my tokens for tomorrow's battles.

Neither The Sable Gauntlet nor Into the Underdark had retribution damage or spell casting bad guys.

I strongly suspect that the monsters this year that damaged players for melee attacks by heating their weapons would not be considered retribution damage (as last year the Salamanders damage was from its "heat aura" - not retribution).

Perhaps the Beholder rays counted as spells?

You're right, I asked and it wasn't retribution damage.

Very interested in the stats from prior dungeons as well - my shirt of shielding has never helped. I have been considering replacing my Shirt of Shielding with a Shirt of the Underdark so I can drop Wil's Dragonheart and free-up a charm slot.

The Succubus was flying and tossing fire-type balls from above. I considered that missile weapons and used Kvothe's. It was also explained the Lava Beast using the lava pools as transportation units was chucking fire missiles. Again, I used Kvothe's.

I totally forgot about it. I need to make up a pre-printed cheat sheet like we did for Epic Grind because I just forget the details when I'm busy blasting monsters.

The lava lurker (in the pools) was tossing globs of lava (missiles).

The Spidaur was casting ray spells at the party.

Maybe Kvothe's would be of more use than I thought - if only I could remember to use them (in combination with Faceted Amber).

Yeah, the Shirts of Healing became antiquated faster than a freshly bought laptop leaving a computer store.
