The Tokens Are Here!

The 2017 Treasure Tokens have arrived, and we are currently doing all the massive amount of prep it takes to fulfill all the pre-orders. We expect to mail all pre-orders between Wednesday and Friday of this week.

Let the endless checking of the tracking number begin to start our quest of sorting!

Good luck to all the pre-orders on getting a Golden Ticket!

PS - too soon to claim the GT run/class combo? ;-)

I don't know why, but I never imagined it like this.

I sort of assumed that the 10 packs came pre-wrapped, not that they were all wrapped by hand, which this appears to be.

This looks like a HUGE amount of work! Kudos to all for your efforts.

They come pre-wrapped (or many do).

The people in the picture are probably making condensed packs by breaking down pre-sealed ones and separating out the rares and uncommons.

That makes much more sense! Thanks so much.

I wish I could see more detail in the picture (it is probably impossible to tell on purpose) but I expect the 10-packs come pre-sealed in the bundles of 100 tokens from the factory, and I expect that all other tokens also come in sealed packs (e.g. like the 20-packs of trade goods I have seen). I doubt they open up 10-packs to create condensed packs because that's a lot of work and a big waste of the commons.

My guess is that they are making condensed packs, but they are making them by opening up 20-packs of uncommons and rares, where each 20-pack is all the same token. Then perhaps Jeff uses his cement mixer to mix up all of the uncommons and then they use the table to count them into bags of 240 and 120.

I wonder if the golden tickets are randomly inserted into the 10 packs by the production company?

If so, they would have to open them and condense them to truly make it a fair chance to find them with the condensed packs.

I would say then I should be looking at something likely Monday for mine. Cool.

Off hand question here, I don't think I stand much of a chance of ever seeing one, but what has been the average price of a Golden Ticket?

It varies. They tend to go for more at the start, when people are clamoring to join in the combat runs.

I'd say a very rough, round-figure, average of $1000.

But as others have said, they go for more early on (as people want to sign up for a specific run, or hope to get a specific class) and for less as the event gets closer and teams have more-or-less solidified.

I've seen GT's go in the vicinity of $1500 on a couple occasions... but I've also seen people post their GT for sale at that price and get no response (because the people who wanted them that badly had already aquired one).

A couple/three years back, I saw a GT go for ~$700. But that was before relics became a standard part of the GT token bag... I think nowadays the GT token bag alone would be worth $500 - $700.

I don't believe they are inserted by china. In fact I'm willing to say fairly firmly they are not. I think we've theory-crafted some answers in the past.
