TOPIC: Transmute Question

I have all of the materials to transmute my IOUN Stone Topaz Trilliant to IOUN Stone Sapphire Trilliant (Dwarf Fighter in need of better saves. ) when I received my treasure pulls from Raven's Eye. As I unwrapped the tube of tokes, a brown token was revealed. I admit I was a little disappointed at first as the potential of a Darkwood Plank or some other 1x transmute item was there. But lo and behold, it ended up being a 25,000 GP Eldritch Ore Bar! I thought it would take so long to get one that transmuting to a legendary item would be years off. Now I wondering if I should bail on the Sapphire and go for Kilgore's +4 Savage Sword before GenCon (I am a Wish Ring and a few small bits away). One thing I am taking into consideration is that the transmute from Topaz to Sapphire does have a expiration date while the sword does not.
