TOPIC: Oh Grunnel, please put some OE and EB in my stocking!!!

Oh Grunnel, please put some OE and EB in my stocking!!! 1 month 3 weeks ago #1

Oh Saint Grunnel, I’ve been a good boy this year,
My Safehold stands ready, its purpose is clear.
But to finish the magic and seal it with might,
I just need bismuth and oil to build it up right.

Oil and Bismuth can easily be had,
Just pull out your wallet and spend a tad:

Grunnel has Oil but it’s glued to some wood

It’s a prop in room five so it does you no good.

Lovely fun!

I didn't realize this was such an issue. Should I be selling my OE and EB?

Depending on how much you have, you could probably finance a really nice Gifting Day. For reference, Trent is listing EB for $45 and is sold out of it. OE is listed for $55.

Yes, very expensive. For my Safehold II I need 6 OE and 7 EB so over $600 to buy them. I can't transmute them, because I just don't have enough tokens to make even 1. Even if I bought an $8,000 condensed only then would I have enough.

So its the old supply/demand. The demand is very high right now and the supply of those tokens can't keep up. Too many big tansmutes happening right now with Safeholds and multi-years. I think there is a lesson for the future that it's probably a really, really bad idea to have 5 multi-year transmutes happen at the same time as well as a very big Safehold. If the plan is to still do that, then let's have a tarriff, I mean, token holiday. How about TD announces that from X date to X date, all recipes no longer require OE or EB to transmute. Or how about they just lower the requirements on Jan 1st for recipes with those. Something needs to be done and even a quick acknowledgment would be awesome. I don't expect TD to control the aftermarket, but they did 100% create this situation. And I realize it wasn't on purpose, but here we are. I just spent over $1,000 on trade goods to get 95% of my Safehold II made, but now need to spend $600 on the last 5%.

Wow pricey. It makes sense. I only have 2 oe and 2 eb myself. Likely not worth the effort to sell even at 50 bucks.

I don't understand at all why something needs to be done on TD's part??? Safehold recipes don't have an expiration date. Just wait until prices on OE and EB come down, or until you have enough $$ to buy what you need. There's no time limit.

I see lots of people freaking out about this. People need to relax, prices will come down. Then they will go up on something else and people will freak out about that. In years past both Bismuth and OE used to go for around $20/each. Sometimes $25. Aragonite was $30 and Fleece was $75. Parchment at one point spiked up high. Oh and long ago UR's would never sell for less than $90. I'm dating myself a bit but outside of Bismuth and OE TG's are historically cheap. Silk, Plank, Stone, are all the lowest they've ever been. Hide, Steel, Parchment, Ink and Aragonite are also cheap. Not ever TG needs to be worth $5 or less.

Folks need to chill.
