TOPIC: Because I Was Told To.

Because I Was Told To. 1 month 3 weeks ago #1

As I was told to do by our VTD DM, a token for next year. A horn that gives a round of bard song. The Epic Weird run got very weird. Shouldn't have had the soup.

Edit: For the 2028 development cycle I mean. 2027's being done and all. Unless...

This is an awesome idea - I wholeheartedly agree---- and not just because the DM told me to

It's the perfect accompaniment to Burnt Soup tokens.

The kids run was also quite weird. A flower from the bad soup grew out of the Cleric's head and gave them the answer to one of the riddles.

Nice idea for a token.

Also, YAY SOUP FUN! Decided to have some soup as well. Ended up having a flower on my head, sneezing glitter, as well as merging with the soup to become half soup half ranger (albeit none of that was relevant in our non weird game; still fun though :) ).

Glad y'all liked my bad soup. Hopefully we will have more soup adventures, and I hope some of you unsouped yourself. I think their is a glitter infection in the dungeon now. I hope the goblins are okay. Glitter is so infectious....

The soup was a great last adventure of this VTD weekend. Thank you!

Separately - the idea of a ghostly horn that does bard inspiration for a round is pretty solid. A rare one could do +2/+2 - maybe an UR doing +4/+4 (1 room and 1 round per run.)

Was the glitter puke inspired by Star Trek: Academy?

Or maybe they were inspired by you...

Either way, there's a character whose species pukes glitter.

Also, I assume the token would only be useable if no Bard started the adventure?

so what was the soup? Our innkeeper mentioned it, but nothing beyond that I noticed.

As a wise Barbarian and friend to all Meeseeks Gargoyls, I cast my 8 faceted sapphire spell of Fist on this idea, to bump it up 8 times.

Also, Headless Harold had a recent breakup, and is looking for companionship.

The Horn of Bardic Song would take a standard action to blow, and would provide a static +4/+4 for the Round. It would be useable by all, and would be useable even if a Bard was already in the party, but maybe for some reason they couldn't speak/hear/sing that round. It would not stack with standard Bard Song.

The Soup of 3 Wishes was your pretty standard soup, but the wishes granted had to be somewhat soup-adjacent in order to be effective.

Also Craven kept joining our party from his car and tried to steal it, or maybe just taunt us about it.

The only problem with everyone having one is not needing a bard for the adventure then - everyone takes a turn moonlighting as the bard. Wizards would be great at it - blown horn, quicken, sharpen a slide spell.

True, but since it is Once per Adventure, that is a maximum of 10 rounds, and not everyone has cool features like the Wizard. Barbarian may not want to give up a full attack just to blow some silly horn, unless they were a Bardbarian, like I was. So it is a trade-off, if I hit for 100+ as a monk, is that going to be made up for by giving others a chance to do more hits, and +36 damage?
