TOPIC: No Transmuting at Gen Con 2026

After weighing MANY factors, we have decided to not offer token transmuting at Gen Con this year. We hope folks can transmute ahead of Gen Con via the mail or at Ring Con. We will most definitely offer token transmuting at Gamehole Con.

We did not make this decision lightly. We want to focus on making the operation of the event our first priority, and we need an all-hands approach this year. Whether we offer it at Gen Con 2027 will be determine in January of 2027. Thanks for your patience and understanding on this matter.

I'd like to encourage anyone attending Ring Con to bring all your transmutes to us there.

To avoid long wait times at Ring Con, feel free to mail your transmutes in early and we'll have them packed and ready to pick up Thursday night when you get your badges and swag.

Just a simple note on your paperwork indicating Ring Con pick-up and we'll hold them for you until then.

I understand the reasoning, but I got to admit that it is frustrating from my end. I am not making it to ring con, but have been aiming to have some big transmutes done to upgrade my build prior to our GenCon runs. This decision adds new logistics hurdles as I now can't just trade for ingredients at GenCon , I'll need to arrange to have them shipped well ahead of time so I also have time to send to TD, and I'll have to trust expensive tokens to the post office rather than transmute in person.

Jeff, thanks for the heads-up! I understand that if resources are limited, you're best off focusing on making all of the adventures as good as they can be.
