TOPIC: Poll: Difficulty Levels

Hi Everyone,

Answer to #1.) As a player - never. My first run in 2012 - nightmare. Always nightmare. Always a challenge. As a Combat Dungeon Master - three groups out of about one hundred and eighty.

Answer to #2.) Please see "Is Another's Treasure" Shop thread. Look at my Ranger build and let me know what you think about "Best in Class?" I'm always welcoming input.

1) I've never been on a party who has. As a full-time coach I have seen 1-2 parties each year (just 1 this year) choose non-lethal. The one from this year didn't really need to, but weren't worried about rewards, just wanted to make sure everyone was alive for the end.

2) I'm not BiS for any slot that has an orange option. I have some blues, mostly purples and 1 green (SRoEC). While I would be willing to run on Hell if the group wanted to, I'm probably not kitted enough unless more of the group were BiS than weren't.

2) I am equipped to run a "Hellish" mode I believe.

Never ran NL mode. As a DM I'd see 1-2 groups per shift. I remember one group of guys bringing their GFs for their first run. Every other time there was at least one kid, usually more, whom I sometimes doubted met the minimum age. But it costs no time or effort or special loots to offer it so we should continue to do so.

My wife and I are Barneys with a touch of Avatar, and not a speck of Great Pumpkin.

Although I don't have any legendaries I do have some Eldritch and BiS for Purple/Blue. A number of GMs asked me to show them how I got my party card numbers so high. I would say that is good enough to attempt Hellish (and look forward to it).

My first thought when you asked this question was to say just make Nightmare an actual Nightmare again and as I think about it I think that is the smarter way to do things. Now that we have hardcore we don't need to add a level, just jump the Nightmare danger up. Make Nightmare and actual difficult.

What is difficult for Nightmare? Purple groups? Relics? Legendary?

My group has been talking about this since Gen Con, and we can't come to a consensus in our group of 14 people. How are we going to do it for the whole of TD?

2. I am BiS, but I'd only try it once a Con. Unless there were more XP involved then I'd run it all the time if I could.
