TOPIC: GREEN with Envy full

GREEN with Envy full 9 years 4 months ago #1

As a continuation of the 2015 WYC semi sealed pack nightmare run I am proposing a run for late Sunday at GenCon this year (so that all players will have had a chance to run before and the inevitable deaths won't stop anyone from experiencing the dungeon fully)

The 2015 GREEN with Envy run will be Into the Underdark on Sunday at 1PM

The rules are as follows:
(Updated) Due to the limited 2015 token pool affecting some classes we've changed to allow any year common/uncommon tokens. As part of this change we removed the access to 1 rare token. These builds will be 100% common and uncommon tokens only!

Treasure Enhancing/Guaranteeing tokens allowed.
All other tokens must be COMMON or UNCOMMON ONLY!

These runs will be NIGHTMARE runs.

Given the token limitations it is VERY likely that people WILL DIE. This is not for the faint of heart, if you have ANY issues with dying DO NOT RUN.

I will keep a tentative tally of players for the moment and grab player payments once the slot has been secured.

PM me if you are interested.

Current Run -

Matt Humpolick - Fighter - PAID
Master Ed - Druid - PAID
Beertram - Maybe Rogue - PAID

When I tried bringing this up to my non forumite friend that plays. His response "I don't like kicking myself completely in my male area thank you very much" (redacted).

Trying to find the bodies needed. Drag enough bushes we'll find them Alex.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Please remove current year from this line.

Out of curiosity, are Green completion tokens considered "Uncommon"?

How about misprints (say, if a Rare token was misprinted with Green ink)?

Looks like yes. For example:

What if I paint the token green? It's still green, so that should count, right?
What about Elemental Eldritch tokens? Those have a green backing. That counts, right?
What about a TaMor's +4 Mithral Bracers? That has a green swirly effect. That should count, right?
What about Greenbrye and Greentowne ? Those have the word "green" in them. That should count, right?

Well, the Green with Envy group are implementing a house rule/restriction, so they are free to define it however they like. Which is why I inquired about their interpretation of "Uncommon."

Certain tokens don't fit neatly into the traditional definition of rarity, including Completion tokens and Monster Trophies. Unless you think it would be accurate telling newbies that Monster Trophies are "Common" because they have black ink.

A related question (for Green with Envy) is what to do with tokens that change rarity over time. Are you only able to use a token if that specific token was common/uncommon the year it was printed? Or can you use a different token to proxy a version of that token that is valid. This comes up with some CCG's, which allow you to substitute an alternate version of a card.

Agreed.

I would say the Tokendb has to say Uncommon or Common under Rarity for us to use it.
