TOPIC: Forum 8K Auctions

It is doubtful another 8K auction will happen on the forums this season. Trent is close to finishing another one. We all know the issue... What if TD offered 10 EB and 10 OE instead of the PoE (Fragment 4) as an option. That could allow those who want to run 8K auctions to do so. I am not sure if TPTB want more 8Ks or not this year. I would hope they would.

One problem might be that people that ran earlier auctions didn't have that option. I would have absolutely opted for 10 EB and OE on my forum auction if it had been available. It would be nice if TD did something to make Path #4 (and Path #1 for that matter) worth more this year.

I don't think that would be an issue. In the past, TD would change what was included once GTs ran out. It would be like that.

That doesn't seem quite like that, they haven't and aren't going to run out of paths.

10 of each is probably too much. Don't underestimate the power of small changes replicated at scale.

Maybe an option to replace Aragonite in the auction with oils and bismuth.

I picked 10/10 because the peaked at around $60/$80 and Fragment #4 peaked around $1,400. A friend suggested another route would be to have the fragments transmute to EB/OE.

I don't think TD should allow the Path Fragment to be transmuted into anything at this point. Something like that should have been done prior to their release. I also don't think they should sub in OE/EB. Maybe there will be another Token like the Hireling Baker after the VTD Patron run. Something like this would be ok.

Jeff actually kind of addressed this already. At some point in token design I suggested allowing the Path Fragments to be transmutable for any five (kind of like the next set), but Jeff said it's too late to do something like that since people have already made decisions to buy or not buy them. Which was perfectly reasonable.

I can see the logic, but that almost doubles the supply per auction. Which I think would very quickly sate the demand.
