Sweet news Jeff. GameHole is a great con, although I missed it this year due to work conflicts.

[Thankfully the job I needed to get done *AT* GameHole was accomplished by Bill from Acaeum, who was a super nice guy and walked around getting the signatures needed.]

Congratulations :)

40 miles from home. Awesome.

I'll be available if volunteers are needed as well.

I suspect there will be no additional personal experience for this event, but just wanted to make sure.

Good question. We did not offer any XP at WYC last year, so we will probably continue that at both WYC and GHC. We could do something like 1000 XP if this is your first time to get new folks into the fold. Thoughts?

Jeff, I think that's a great idea!

There is a player level limit for True Grind, and it seems like experience at non-Gencon events should count towards that.

And I don't think it's fair to add non-Gencon events into the "must have" category for our friends who can't fly to the U.S. for every convention to keep her, I mean their, XP maxed out.

So, yeah. As described, I like it.

Like this as you currently need 1000XP to enter True Grind (per the 2011 players guide on the website). I feel that sometime we'll reach a point of TD expanding out where having other cons count for XP. Likely if/once a full dungeon sets are done at another con besides the specialty ones you've been doing Jeff.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

There is precedence for this happening, i.e. True Realm. and she, I mean they were able to make that one and get XPs.

Getting additional XPs at other events isn't a huge deal for me, but it does make sense and would be nice. The same holds true for True Grind to lesser extent. It makes it harder for me to justify doing runs outside of GenCon (we do 6-7 runs there) if there isn’t any additional benefits. Being that the runs will be the same at the two side Cons and the fact that we did it so many times at GenCon it gets expensive. Sure, it is fun and gives opportunity to use the tokens more than once a year, but tickets costs and token usage (burning a Deaths Door for instance) for those runs or True Grind seems less justifiable. That said. I have rooms booked for both WYC, GenCon, and Madison and can’t wait to play. I probably wouldn’t be going to any of them if it wasn’t for True Dungeon.

I think I would like to see that expanded even further, maybe the Madison Run could give credit to anyone who did not run both of the gencon runs?
