This, please.

Or, "You must slide the second puck with the same hand before the first one stops moving," if space is at a premium.

I slightly prefer my version for excessive clarity but I agree Brad's version is more than adequate if space is at a premium. Either would be better than the current wording. To be clear the front of the card does spell it out too but we can't specify enough IMO.

Thank you all for the great feedback.
Small request: It's very helpful if you indicate whether you're referring to the front or back of the card and whether it's the 4th, 5th, Sub, or some combinations of those three. Thanks

Lodestone (KH) wrote: A couple of items. Elf Wizard 4th and 5th back, second sentence says 'Alertness must be used the before the DM calls...' Should be 'Alertness must be used before the DM calls...'

Wizard card backs 4th vs. 5th the Cat's Grace paragraph in the middle. The 5th card has the first sentence messed up a bit. Just use the sentence from the 4th.

Other than that the card back says the Wizard 'is a deadly spell-caster that can lay waste to almost any foe with your arcane powers.' That lay waste part seems a bit pretentious. I would prefer something more like 'a deadly spell-caster that can use an array of arcane powers to take advantage of their foe's weaknesses.' as that seems to be more in line with the spirit and current actual play. It may seem small but it gives a clearer idea that this is a class more about tactics instead of just blasting everything. But that's probably just how I see it.

Just to clarify, adding the new bits Druegar requested.

Awesome notes Kirk! Thank you!
I agree with nearly everything you said, but I have a few comments.

Kirk Bauer wrote: Bard Troubadour
Shout: perhaps remove reference to saving throw since we have largely eliminated that mechanism when attacking monsters. It doesn't seem necessary here.

Though it may not be strictly necessary, it's consistent with other "what if" scenarios, so I'd like to keep it to preserve uniformity.

Kirk Bauer wrote: This also avoids ending the sentence in a preposition.

The idea that ending a sentence with a preposition is wrong is a very common misconception . I was taught that in school too, but sometimes even teachers succumb to erroneous ways of thinking.

Kirk Bauer wrote: Fighter Duelist
This is the first time (so far) that Melee specifically mentions "not ranged".

The reasoning to keep the "not ranged" bit was to emphasize that ranged attacks are not compatible, not to define what melee meant. That said, I did remove it.

Kirk Bauer wrote: Wizard (5th Level)
"late-adventure monsters" implied but doesn't state that they are more powerful. I'd just say "more powerful monsters".

Since a newb may not know that monsters get more powerful as the dungeon progresses, I like keeping that concept. So I went with a combination of the two.

From Grammar.dictionary.com:

However, it may still be worth revising your sentences to avoid ending them with a preposition whenever possible if you wish to reduce the risk of controversy. Since there are still a number of people who believe ending a sentence with a preposition is incorrect, considering your audience’s thoughts on the issue is a wise idea—particularly when you’re trying to gain a new client or land an important job interview. For example, “Which department is she in?” could simply be rewritten to read as “She is in which department?” without influencing clarity or comprehension.

My rule of thumb is usually there's a way to rephrase it that avoids the preposition issue entirely. Then everybody's happy.

My second rule of thumb is that when a preposition is dangled in writing then people will notice a little thing like that and pick on it. When you're speaking it's not so important.

from the link I previously mentioned :

I said you don’t need to rewrite those sentences, but because of the prevalent myth that it’s wrong to end sentences with prepositions, there are times when you should avoid doing it even though it isn’t wrong. For example, when you’re writing a cover letter to a potential employer, don’t end a sentence with a preposition. The person reading the letter could see it as an error. I always recommend following the most conservative grammar rules in job applications. I’d rather be hired than lose out on an opportunity because my grammar was correct--but perceived as wrong.

But once you're hired and you’re in a position to have a discussion about grammar, don’t be afraid to end sentences with prepositions as long as the preposition isn’t unnecessary. Just be ready to show your boss a good style guide or this Web page and do your part to dispel one of the top ten grammar myths .

Yes, I agree. It isn't that you can't do it, it is just cleaner to avoid it.
