Time Travel.

Think about it. No need ever again for reprints of tokens, just go back and get it when it was originally offered. XP for past events doesn't become an issue, laz can go back and do the first year dungeons. Someone spoils a dungeon for someone. Go back in time and slap them before they even get the chance.

Dreamhack is pretty big (50K+ people) putting it on par with GenCon. The audience is very different - a great idea for TD to pursue - essentially, a large audience of new potential players. The question is how much crossover will their be between digital gaming (and competitive digital gaming) and the TD audience.

It makes a lot of sense to try it.

I would also recommend testing DragonCon for a year (yes, it would mean skipping a year of Pax West). DragonCon has a bit more cross-over with less digital gaming and more cos-play and role-play but still different enough from GenCon to be at least half of the attendees not doing GenCon or Origins. With 85K attendees, it would represent a great new venue but it isn't cheap to do. Similarly, SDCC or NYCC would be 150K attendees but might be price prohibitive to set up something of TD's size.

Oversees would be interesting but the logistics would be a nightmare. Most likely unrealistic to see TD shipping everything over for Essen/Speil (even for the 170K attendees). What would make more sense there would be finding a European partner and licensing the TD intellectual property to do a clone version of it there.

It's great to see the game getting exposed to even larger audiences! Great work guys!

I think the PAX's (is that the plural? paxes?) have already demonstrated there is overlap fine, hasn't it?

I like the sound of "PAXen"
Have you looked it up in the TDb?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Gencon no doubt has large attendance, but the ICC (and surrounding hotels/stadium) is huge. Kinda like how everything is bigger in Texas, everything in Europe is smaller; the building Spieltag occupies (at least in 2014) is no where close to as big as the ICC. Spieltag also caters to more children than you think as Europe in general is more family orientated than we are here.

Regardless, I do agree selling the rights/collecting royalties would be the most logical to break into overseas markets.

Sell your home and most other belongings, and invest the proceeds. Time travel to GenCon 2020 and play new TD adventures! Then time travel to GenCon 2021 and play more new TD adventures! No need to keep a job; investment earnings for a year should easily cover a few days' worth of expenses plus a pretty decent token-buying budget.

(bonus: get a hotel room for only one night, but sleep in it four times simultaneously! Just be careful you don't all go down to breakfast at once.)

Although difficult not impossible. Different dungeons could go to different cons. We just clone Mike. In fact, for this type of situation, different years dungeons and tracks could be scheduled.

I think there's probably a dozen key roles you'd need to have very very solid for that to work (give or take a few people). But yeah, seems like it could work.

Besides those roles, there's also several things like the props department that you'd need to duplicate equipment on, or give more planning to. Things like which pipe carts go where, how to split up the curtain crate, etc. Make sure the ladders, coaches chairs, etc. don't accidentally all get sent to one con, and so on...

Bei Spieltag und Essen müssen Sie Deutsch sprechen.

Anyone up for translating Tokendb into German?. (Certainly someone whose German is better than mine.)
