TOPIC: GT at GenCon

I just saw that the GT run was moved from Wed night to Thursday at Gencon. That evening run has been a tradition and, easily, the most fun of any of the GT runs,

Could we get clarification on why the change was made?

At least they moved it off of Friday afternoon (it was there until sometime today).

This came up during Jeff's interview with Trent. I believe there were some Gen Con security concerns around having the runs on Wednesday. No real explanation as to why suddenly now and not in years' past.

From the interview, a Gencon policy changed that no longer permits a Wednesday run. What that policy is was not stated.

That’s definitely a shame. The whole room 8 where we do something goofy with Jeff was always a highlight (sliding mugs as pucks, hunting him in a Ghille (sp?) suit, shooting bows (badly) for prizes, etc.). It felt special in a way the runs during normal convention hours just don’t. I’ve done GT runs at both GHC and Origins and neither felt much different from regular TD runs.

If the early runs Wednesday are off the table - maybe it is time to rethink the golden ticket and do something different. Alternatives could range from a special virtual TD to something goofy at TD’s warehouse (or both.)

The TD swag is nice but definitely secondary to an unusual TD experience. Jeff & Co - please give this some thought. Thank you as always for listening.

I made that same request

Hopefully TD can still done something on a Thursday GT run to make it pretty special. Maybe have an empty run after it to give time for something special and unique?
