TOPIC: Event Changes in 2026

Due to several factors, we have decided to change our planned in-person events for 2026. This is due to several reasons that add up to make these tweaks necessary.

We are no longer attending Origins 2026 (but hope to be back in 2027).  Origins wants us back in 2027, so I am hopeful.

Also, we have dropped plans at Gamehole Con 2026 to present the 4-room mini-adventure.  We will still show a 7-room adventure as well as True Grind at GHC.  Thank you for your understanding regarding these changes.

I apologize for giving out bad info earlier this year. Your patience would be appreciated, but I understand any ill-will this news might cause. I wish this was not happening.

Jeff, it's completely understandable that True Dungeon has to change it's plans due to new factors, as always thanks for being so upfront with everything.

I’m not going to Origins if TD isn’t going, so it’s their loss!

No hard feelings here, 2026 still looks amazing tor TD.

I may not go now either. Was it a decision from Origins? I know you cant be specific.

I was thinking about taking the kids to Origins, since GenCon overlaps with camp this year and they can't make that. I guess I don't have to sweat it now.

I already know that GHC overlaps with the IL State Marching Band Competition, so I guess they won't get an in-person run this year. :shrug: (No, before you say it, we're not going to Ring Con. )

Jeff, how does this impact the recipe for the in-person completion transmute? I'm guessing that the bead requirements will be cut dramatically for the Bead of Divine Choice.

I was already debating skipping Origins, since it was only going to be the 4 room sealed. But I’m definitely skipping now.

Sorry to hear, but the transparency this early on is very helpful with planning time off, budgeting etc.. I appreciate the heads up.

Bummer on Origins for sure. I go solely to volunteer with TD so I won’t be attending this year I guess

Maybe I can come up with a way to go to GHC for the first time….

Appreciate the advance notice that TD won’t be at Origins. I’ve enjoyed volunteering for TD there. As others have said, I likely won’t attend Origins 2026 in light of this news. (I should look at my calendar and see if there are any other 2026 volunteer opportunities that would work.)

Hoping to see more in-person cons on the schedule in 2027.

I used to do Origins every year then stopped in 2020. I've been back once since. It isn't one of my favorites any more. It isn't as well run as other shows and there isn't a ton of unique things there. Gencon has the atmosphere and events you won't find almost anywhere else. GHC has a lot of the cool Gencon events (for RPGs and TD) and isn't a mob and it is very well run. I'm planning to checking out Garycon in the next couple years - that may be my routine 3rd convention.
