TOPIC: What are the best GENCON parking options for driving in?

What are the best GENCON parking options for driving in? 1 month 2 weeks ago #1

Once again we'll be staying at a remote hotel and driving in. Does anyone have any suggestions for reserving parking? The place we used last year seemed to oversell the parking spots.

Thanks!
Mike

Do you mind walking? I know where there is free on street parking.

Corey, where is that? Is there usually parking there available?

I think we'll look to reserve a spot close to the Convention Center, but free parking would be nice to have in our back pocket in case we need to drive more than one car in.

We're staying at an airport hotel this year. Same as last year. We have always gone with the official gencon parking company - this year it's ipark and we bought the 5 day blue lot pass. It's super close to Lucas Oil for TD purposes. Last year all these lots were serviced by Gate 10 and I guess they had a bunch of legal issues with not paying rent on the parking lots. So I guess we'll see how this goes but we have our spot purchased.

Andrew, which of the parking lots did you pick at that link? Most of them look like a long walk or shuttle bus.

We went with Horseshoe Blue 5 day pass. It's on the far side of Lucas Oil compared to the convention center and it IS a hell of a walk at the end of the day but it's doable. I'm not ashamed to say we took an uber one night from our restaurant to the parking lot lol.

I usually park at the Virginia Avenue Parking Garage. It's just on the east side of Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Parking there tends to be very safe as a lot of police tend to park in there. Parking non-event is usually $8/day Event $15/Day and if Indiana Fever is playing Caitlin Clark that day expect $20-$30 a day.

Last year they started doing a bunch of remodeling to the garage. The city hall to the north of the garage got sold and being converted into a hotel. So there was half the normal parking. But I tend to find it a great easy in and easy out affordable parking. 6 block walk to the ICC.
