TOPIC: Ring Con tickets at td.events

Ring Con tickets at td.events 3 months 5 days ago #1

I believe the earlier confusion regarding "early ticket sales" has been cleared up. Basically Jeff was using the term "Patron" when he meant Mark of Enlightenment holder, and things got confusing.

Another important part about Ring Con tickets - they are NON-TRANSFERRABLE!

Any event that has a limit of tickets per person (which is ALL events at Ring Con) is unable to be transferred to another player.

Example: Jane has a MoE and a RotSS and plans on attending Ring Con. She logs into her account at td.events and buys one ticket for each event at Ring Con. Later she decides that she doesn't want to play True Grind, but her friend, who is also attending Ring Con, does want to play True Grind and the tickets were sold out before he could get one. Jane cannot transfer her ticket to the friend. She can refund the ticket and he can purchase it, but she cannot transfer the ticket to another person.

Hi Lori!

Do you have to have the Ring with you? I'm guessing not, but just wanted to be sure. If some of my group doesn't want to attend, I may end up with extra codes to trade/sell/give away.

Thanks!
Mike

Be easy for someone to show an ID that matches up to the person who transmuted the ring and the ring.

I get it… and part of me likes the idea of stating the procedure clearly… but I gotta be honest, being carded to play at Ring Con kinda sounds like the wrong move and I worry it may leave a sour taste in some. I’m all about accountability and honoring the agreement but I really hope TDA doesn’t do this. If they wanna card me, I’m all for it as it doesn’t bother me, but I can see this backfiring badly.

I have no problem with TD doing an ID check at Ring Con, as I can't think of any other way they can manage attendance since the Rings aren't individually numbered. Hopefully they have wristbands or something so they only have to do it once per person. I'm still a little unclear if you need to have a transmuted Ring with you when you attend, or just a name that matches the name on TD.Events when the code was submitted.

I feel like it stated somewhere you needed to have a transmuted ring when you attend. you cannot just show up with the parts to make the ring at Ring Con.

On the Ring Con page: This is an exclusive event only available to True Dungeon players who have transmuted the five different Rings of the Nth Circle into a Ring of the Sacred Circle (RoSC). You must bring your transmuted RoSC token to enter Ring Con and participate in the various TD-themed events. Note: just presenting the ingredients to make a Ring of the Sacred Circle is not sufficient.

Interesting, thanks! I wonder if that was written before they decided to send codes for the transmuted Rings.

Frodo couldn't have just taken an affidavit from Gandalf and thrown it into Mount Doom! I mean, he could have, but it wouldn't have destroyed the ring!

How will it be handled if someone has a code used for them but doesn’t attend? I’m trying to convince a couple people to go but they aren’t 100% sure yet and I’d like to be in the same runs with them. If we use codes now and they choose not to go or can’t attend for some reason, can the ticket be returned and the code reused for someone else?

Also - if the codes aren’t transferrable, does that mean we are locked into whatever schedule we initially sign up for? It seems like normally, we can return tickets hen switch to other slots. Would that still be possible for Ringcon?

Once a code is used/ticket purchased - if any changes need to be made, you really need to contact me to get that worked out on an individual basis. The system isn't perfect, and we understand that, but we do need to make sure that people are following the rules that were set in order to give everyone who has a RoSC has the opportunity to attend.
