TOPIC: USPS Price Hikes

Hey all,
I just noticed today that USPS jacked it's prices up for flat rate boxes to $11.35 for medium size boxes and $15.45 for large size boxes. Insanity!

Just thought I'd let you guys know this ahead of time before showing up to the USPS and being shocked like I was today. Good thing what I was shipping still fit in a flat rate envelope...

Hope this dosent hurt Token Trading toooo much.

PS. Does anybody use any alternative methods to shipping that are cheaper or more effective?

it is still cheaper then putting tokens in a regular box (i always ask how much I am saving)..when I send in trade items I am usually saving over $60

Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes are usually the cheapest way to ship. That is why we use it.

Thanks, Jeff - I think it is still the best but did experience a bit of sticker shock today when I was expecting half the charge, however...

You do bring up a good point - I looked into how much it would be w/o a flat rate box. Talk about expensive!

no problem..I am sure the other rate went up as well, so it will probably be over $70 now

Also if you print from home at USPS.com, you can print on regular paper and use good packing tape on the box, you also get a discount(like 15%) and free delivery confirmation.

BTW, it looks like the Token Exchange Program web feature will be operational on Monday -- along with a slightly different config on the main menuing system.

So...you should be able to send in tokens starting on Monday!

That's a great guide, Jeff, thanks for sharing! Now I'm wishing my USPS actually wasnt so crappy and actually stocked the small boxes... Guess I'll be treking to another post office or two tomorrow.

You can get USPS to deliver the boxes to your house for free. They have a shipping assortment that includes some of each size.
