TOPIC: Cosplaying your TD Character

Hey there! Ive been playing TD for the last two years, and have slowly been building up my costume as "grow in level" I've found most of my costume bits on Ebay, Etsy, and craft stores. But I've seen people with really nice adventurer-esc garb and was wondering where other people find their costume pieces?

If you saw my ranger outfit last year (which I only wore on Wednesday because it was HOT), it was made of thrift store items, except for the boots. The leather armor was made from a pleather coat about 10 sizes too big for me.

This year I'm back to playing cleric, so I bought a 1/4 mile of aluminum fence wire and a 3-ft steel rod and I'm making my own chainmail. I'm thinking it will breathe a lot more, so maybe I'll be able to stand to wear it more than one day.

Then, it's back to the thrift store for some other pieces to finish it off. I'm kinda cheap, but the lighting in the storyscape isn't that great anyway...

A good pair of leather boots is definitely in my near future. The ones I have, have heels and by day 4 of gencon my feet hate me. While the ones they sell at the con look awesome they're also very expensive.... may have to make a trip to the thrift store before july

I'm a huge fan of seeing people cosplaying their TD characters. It really helps the experience come to life even more when the people walking around in it match the setting.

Most of the pieces of the costumes I wear during TD I bought at Renaissance Festivals. And I have also purchased a lot from the vendors at GenCon and other conventions. (I'm a sucker for new leather pouches!) It's not a cheap route, but I've added to various costumes over time - perhaps only spending a hundred bucks per purchase, and after a few years I have costumes I'm really excited to wear.

I'm not going to wear the rod, silly. It's used as a mandril to spin the wire into coils, which then are cut into rings. Thousands and thousands of rings...

leather ranger to metal cleric? Changing faith are you?

I've definitely been tempted to make a costume for my character, though I don't have a high enough level or a big enough group to guarantee my monk =/. Also I don't have access to bag check, so have to carry my bag around anyway.

The thought to pick up www.jinx.com/p/world_of_warcraft_monk_premium_zip_up_hoodie.html has crossed my mind, but a hoodie mid summer doesn't sound super pleasant either.
