Again Matthew, my apologies if your friends were in any way put off from playing a character class they have previously thought of playing.
I was merely trying to relay as much information as possible that I had been given.
I am sure that there will inevitably be editting changes made to the guide before Indy since it must change with elements added to or taken away. And hopefully with the feedback from ones such as yourself it will only get better.
And I'm very sorry if it at all seemed to exclude anyone. I had hoped that it would be informative and hopefully slightly entertaining to read.
Everyone, please continue to provide feedback since this is how things can grow and improve.
And thank you to those who comment.

Wouldn't it be cool if the player could name the CHAR and provide the gender etc...I mean what adds a bit more to the role playing than to actually name your persona...

It would be TOTALLY cool and GEEKY too to have the players roll their attributes...maybe give them minimums in certain ones - but allow people to roll for 18s or whatever.

Maybe these things have already been thought of or tried...just late night thoughts from a tired Cleric (I'm ok playing a girl - heck I can play a girl with a ring of fire resistance!!! She's SMOKIN!)

Basically the characters with the exception of Grog are the same characters from the first module. In that module items on the character sheet did have relevance to certain puzzles in the adventure. I believe that had something to do with many of the attributes listed on the character sheets. Some other things go back to first edition stereotypes where the quinisential rogue was always a halfling (i.e.e hobbit). Plus Jeff loves hobbits so that makes the rogue a no brainer.

While I can see where some people might be sensitive to the sex of their character, there is no slight intended by most characters being male. Infact, every character in last years intro video was a female so we turned the tables a bit there.

Anywhoo, we have toyed with the idea with allowing players to tweak their character in various ways, but the hang up we always come across is that we want to stress that the game is primarily about you being the character vs just a bunch of stats and dice rolls determining everything. For simplicity, I say we steal a line from Austin Powers and for sex list the answer as 'yes please!'.[/b]

Of course we could always name them Pat, Chris, Lee, etc, and put gender as undetermined. ;)

LOL!!!

No, I was just listing names that could be either for a girl or boy.
There was I think a SNL skit on "Pat" a character you couldn't tell if it was a boy or girl, and their 'friend' Chris, who again you weren't sure if it was a boy or girl. I was not trying to zing anyone on the forum. If it did, then its just a bonus. ;) Just kidding.
Last thing I want to do is upset anyone.
You I can get away with a little because mom would shoot you if you killed me. Ppppbbblllttt.
The forumites here have no fear of mom, just of bro. ;)

Surrrrreeee DD, play inocent, but I was waiting for you to list the name Fritz.

A really big thunder storm line went through here in southern Illinois. Tornados, lots of water, flash flood warnings - I think the storm is done, but flash flood warnings are in effect until 3 AM tomorrow morning. Everything here is OK.
