I have. I think the point he is making is that it brings up a list of all the new posts, but doesn't update to show them as read when you click on them and read them. The symbol used to go from yellow to white when you had read it. It's not too bad if there's only one or two, but if there's several and you are also posting to them, it's hard to tell which ones you just read, and which ones you had read but some one else just posted to while you were reading another one.

I've discovered another option this version doesn't have that I really think we need, which is polls.

Do we have to use a free program? If not, you might want to check out www.wowbb.com/ . It's only $89, says it can convert from any phpBB 2.0.x database, and looks like it has lots of what we want, including the ability to have private sections. It has an FAQ section, as well as a forum with a section you can ask questions before you purchase, as well as a 30 day free trial. I'm not sure about security issues. I'm certainly no expert on this, is just something I found thru Google.
