TOPIC: Forum Annoyance

Is there any way we can change the timeout settings and how they apply to the Forum. Apparently, after logging in, just browsing and reading various forum threads is not sufficient to maintain an "active" state, such that during an hour catch up session, I am prompted for my password several times. Posting seems to be the only way to reset the clock.

At least I am good for another 15 minutes, now...

I've only really noticed it when it comes to posting. It drove me nuts when that first happened after I tried to post something, kicking me out and having me resubmit my login/password. Luckily it only happened a few times before I discovered that by hitting 'back' and then 'quick reply' again, my post was still there and capable of being copied.

A long time ago, I just checked the box on login for "Remember me" or something of the sort. Doesn't really help if you're on a shared computer though.

So do I, but it doesn't seem to always work. I still get booted out to the login screen occassionally after I've tried to submit a post.

Lol. Talking about annoying.....I am a moderator and have checked the "remember me" box and still have to log in often. Fix it please?

I have provided my login three times total. Once on my computer at work, once on my computer at home, and once on my phone. I have never had to log in again in any of those places. Wonder what's different for me?

Of course, now that I've said that, I expect things will go so horribly wrong that I won't have an account the next time I try to log in...

Ms. Fox, perhaps you have your browser set up to not accept cookies, or to delete all cookies every time you close the browser?

Just an idea. Whenever I find myself logged out and think "why am I not kept logged in?" it invariably means I recently cleared my cookies.
