TOPIC: So have posts been deleted AGAIN???

I think I lost (almost) another couple hundred posts. WTF? This is getting annoying.

I know it's not important in any meaningful way, but it means something to me.

I have been getting a few database errors again too. when I hit refresh they have been fixing themselves but I guess the behind the scenes database magic still needs some work

Good riddance. They were probably all unworthy posts anyway.

I have been moving forums, locking them, and blinding off some older ones, but that should not change the post count. Unless something is going on behind the scenes, we have not in the past made an effort to mass delete posts. We simply move the threads to a "parking lot" then over time turn off access, so they do not clutter up people's view.

There must be something else going on, hopefully there is a resolution.

Yeah, I was pretty excited about getting close to 10K, being only the second person to get there. This recent post loss isn't as big as the one a couple months ago, where people lost thousands of them.

Thanks for the explanation, Dave. Hopefully this can get resolved at least to the point that it stops happening.
