So we stop them at the source. Bann emails using the "*" wildcard. I've found alot of emails that are used only by spambots to bann. I've blocked some of those and deleted the first round.  Looks like I'll need another day to add the new ones.

It has been a while since I registered, but if you enable the "type these letters in the box" part of the forum registration, it should filter a lot of them out.  (I can't remember what is it is called...)

<br />Its called word verification, I mentioned it in the first post. <br /><br />I really hope thats true bro, I really tire of it. I don't like being chased away from the forum by spam. But I just can't stand it.

Please forgive me if I'm out of line. But I am just sick of the spam that gets onto this forum. <br /><br />So might I make a small suggestion, if apparently you cannot enable a word verification in your Member Register Page to keep the spam bots out and that trash out.<br />Why don't you make a few regular, trusted forumites have Mod access so they can atleast delete the trash until those with Admin power can come in and delete the thread and user account. And that way the Directors aren't constantly being pulled in to clear that stuff out. Because the spam coming onto the forum is not getting any better. <br />So why not spread the workload of keeping the site clean?<br />

Frankly, I don't see speed as being much of an issue. It'd be different if this was a heavy traffic forum, but as it is, it really dosen't matter if someone deletes the post within 10 minutes of its appearance or a day. It's not like the thing is going to scroll off the screen due to new threads nor will it attract dozens of replies which makes getting rid of it more cumbersome. It's blatantly obvious which threads are spam (My personal favorite are the ones that flag themselves as spam and ask to be deleted) so it's not even like you can really stumble into it by accident short of being a cretin. It just seems like a generally moot point.
