well OK...can't stand the sight of a sulking Pixie!

I would really like to believe that there were that many "real" people online, however my guess is that we were being tagged by a bunch of Spambots, Web Crawlers or a mixture of the two.  I generally delete about 40-50 requests for new accounts daily.  Since the security for G-Mail accounts was cracked recently, that number has been increasing daily.  <br /><br />When I had the time I used to do IP traces for "Guest" accounts.  Many I would find were indexing Web Crawlers owned by yahoo, Google, or the like.  I usually let those be.  We could block those with a config statement, but technically they are "good for business".  The Spam accounts on the other hand are a real pain in the butt.  But unfortunately I can not generically block the "gmail.com" domain, there are just too many valid accounts, so I have to delete them manually.  <br /><br />Every once in a while one slips through long enough to post, for that I am sorry, but we try to keep up with things as best we can.<br /><br />Dave<br />

<br /><br />I like the fact that you keep the board open to first time users.  Seems like a lot of people stop by to check on time slots or a quick trade and then hang around for the fun.  Besides, I haven't had any permanent retinal damage from the 'pr0n' yet.<br /><br />
