paint them with a clear coat of glow-in-the-dark paint... there are paints available that are clear in daylight, and glow in dark...

Way ahead of you, I have some on order. :)

But that's still not going to yield the extreme luminosity one could achieve with a solid GITD back.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Just keep in mind that most glow in the dark paint has some limit to its glowing life. The stuff we used on the Angel/Demon did fade after about a day. So for a run it would likely be fine.

Dave

I have a very bright red LED on a keychain that will obviously be in my pocket when I do my TD run. So if anyone were to drop a token I could use that to hunt for it and not ruin everyone's night vision. Sides I figure everyone and their brother has a cellphone and those can be pretty right too.
Has anyone tried marking the rim and/or back of tokens with black light ink? With a key chain black light they might be easy to find.

I love reading threads like this, and thinking of the perils faced by "real" adventurers in a Dungeon. I mean, no one would really drop a longsword mid-fight and be unable to find it on the dungeon floor, but how many times would PC's lose random coins, gems, loot, spell components, in a real dungeon?

"Thorvald, pass me the vial of antitoxin, quick!"

"Sure, I've got it right here... Andriella, hold the torch while I get it from my pouch... oh, shit!!"

"What do you mean, "Shit"!?!?!? I'm dying here, I need the antitoxin! Now!"

"Erm, I had it in my fingers, but it slipped, and it rolled away..."

"Go find it!!!!"

"It rolled into the bracken & slime at the back of the cave! I'm looking! I'm looking! By the gods there's a lot of vines and dead foliage here. ARRRG!"

(Everyone goes to search)

"Keep looking! Light more torches if you need to! I'm gonna down another healing potion while you stumblebums look. I've got a couple in my... whoops."

"Whaddyamean, whooops?"

"Um, guys, I dumped my pouch to get the healing potions out of the bottom, and I forgot that I'd thrown the gems from the Lichking's Lair into that pouch. I think I just scattered 1000gp worth of Diamonds, plus the Diadem of Power, on the floor here, right by these crevices where we found that poisonous snake. Can one of you guys bring a torch over this way.... ?"

I've permanently lost tokens before when they slid off the combat table. We hunted and hunted and hunted - but no luck.

Granted, and Brian's right about the carpet.

but between a very good light, and a magnet, I hope to retain my lossless record this year.

TPTB are the only ones who can give you a definite answer on this. Technically, if you did as you described, you would be guilty of trademark infringement and possibly something along the lines of fraud. However, if you produced an image for the token that made it obvious it was not a legitimate version of the original (smaller image or black & white instead of color) then you might get away with it, as long as you have the original token with you.
You are most likely to get a "No" as your answer simply because it opens the door to other people producing proxy copies and then selling them.
