As I understand it, the old wooden "?" Special originally worked by allowing the redeemer to choose a token of the same rarity as the "?" they turned in. Common "?" = common token. Uncommon "??" = uncommon token. Rare "???" = rare token.

I had 1 individual ask about redemption of said token this con and I was told to inform him that it had no effect this year, but that he should hold onto it for possible future use.

So were there special tokens of different rarities in wooden tokens?

This is true...

The wooden SPECIALS came in 3 rarity levels...in 2003 and I think also in 2004.

common ?
uncommon ? ?
rare ? ? ?

I think that 2003 had all three Rarities, and then 2004 had just the Rare (back then Very Rare) version. So, the Common and Uncommon versions were only printed in 2003, which makes them extremely rare.

I thought that too, but then thought twice, I think I have a 2004 special ? someplace...but maybe not.

If you guys do, they should probably be considered misprints, since the 2004 token guide only has the ???.

Just say something about how the Ring of Riches will (or won't) cause power creep, crash of token economy, etc, and you're guaranteed at least 5 more pages =D

Yeah for ring of riches. I just wish I could wear 2. They would rock with my horn of plenty, sun glasses and bundles of gold chains.

If there were gloves of treasure snatching for extra treasure pulls I'd wear those also. Cam I draw extra tokens is I don't carry a weapon?

Maybe instead of a weapon and shield, you could have a 2-handed "Shovel of Scooping" that let you get a big shovelful of Tokens after each adventure.

I'd probably get that actually =D
