TOPIC: There can be only one!

If you had the choice of choosing only one Ultra this year what would you choose?<br /><br />The reason I ask is because I only have the means to get one Ultra this year and am having a very hard time trying to decide.  Normally I play a Paladin with gear as follows:(only listing what could be replaced with picks from this year)<br /><br />+3 Holy Great Sword<br />+1 Mighty Longbow<br />Girdle of Hill Giant Strength<br />Boots of Free Action<br />Rings vary but usually Ring of Regeneration and Ring of Protection +1<br /><br />My wife plays a Wizard who I also need to consider, her gear is as follows:(again only listing what could be replaced<br /><br />Robe of the Mage<br />Belt of Retrieval<br />+1 Staff of Striking<br />Ring of Focus and Ring of Regeneration<br />Boots of Free Action<br /><br />I would like to get something that we both could benefit from as there are times that we don't take runs together, with that in mind I was thinking along the lines of Wil's Charm, Ring of Pro +2, and possibly the Boots of Might, or Mithral Boots but I just am not sure with what to pick anymore especially with the new character builds.<br /><br />So if you could give me some insight it would be greatly appreciated.

given everything you mention, i would definitely go with wil's dragonheart.  you can both use it, and to great effect...as paladin, you will be the defender, so extra HP will be helpful in your role, and HP is always good for the squishy little mage.

The charm is also slotless, which helps make it easy to use. I think the ring of riches will be a hot item this year, but it has no in game utility, <br /><br />By the way, the mage isn't "squishy" but he should be renamed "walking death".

<br /><br />I plan on having 26-27 HP as a Wizard next year. >.> (18 for level 5, 23 with Boots of Might, then +3/4 for the Charm, whichever it is.)

Add two more points for an elixir and a runestone.<br />

Ok, walking wounded. <br /><br />You make good points about us now having the tools to make even the overpowderpuff mage respectable in hit points. <br /><br />In the final estimation, it doesn't matter anyway. It's all relative to the amount of play balance and creativity Jeff and company put into the adversaries.

<br /><br />The Charm isn't slotless, it takes a charm slot.  Of which you are limited to three, and there are now four potential choices (unless you are smak).

The charm or ring. Its the easist and most useful without going into specialized equipment lists for character build.
