TOPIC: Ring of Evasion up for trade

I'm looking to trade my Ring of Evasion for some other PURP permanent.

+1 Plate
+2 Staff
+2 Short Sword
Gloves of Dex
+2 Great Axe

Does not have to be straight across trade - can use guide and fill in with REDS as needed to equal up a trade...

Ok, remind me again what the Ring of Evasion does? Is the RoE the one that reduces trap damage, and the CoD the one that makes enemies miss a certain percentage of the time? Silly ultra-rares mixing my head up, I don't play D&D! I know what my Strength Girdle and Dex Gloves do, and most of the other UR's, but I don't remember this pair :-P

RoE is something like - if you make a REFLEX save you take 0 damage instead of half...

The CoD is 50% chance to be missed AFTER a hit is rolled...so essentially the monster has to hit twice.

CoD has to be the BEST PURP, with RoE in the top 5 but not in the top 3 (In my opinion).

What are the top purps, in your opinion (not counting Ring of 3 Wishes)?

Actually I do not count the R3W at all - or even in the top three - it is a collector's piece only in my opinion.

The RoR - is maybe equal to the +1 ring or platemail +1 or ring of evasion but I dunno it is harder to get a RoR than those others - I am just grading on play impact not just guide speculation.

Top 3 in play factor for me are - Cloak of D, Girdle of HGS, Gloves of Dex and then RoE or RoR.

I think the top 3 tokens (not counting R3W) are:

1) Elixir of Life
2) Girdle of Giant Strength
3) Gloves of Dex.

I realize the Elixir is a Red, not a purple, but it's still one of the very best tokens, IMHO.
And I'll admit I'm terribly fond of my Ring of Regeneration (wouldn't trade it for the world) but it's really not a power item.

No Cloak of Displacement? :shock:

My Top 5 would be:

1) Cloak of Displacement
2) Ring of Regeneration
3) Elixir of Life
4) Ring of Evasion
5) Gauntlets of Dex

The theme being - stay alive! Personally, I think the Ring of Regeneration is powerful considering you can never have too much healing and it can probably heal you for 5 points every adventure. The Cloak will probably protect you from 5-10 points of damage every adventure but you lose the ability to wear the +2 Cloak.

CoD is in my book the hands down best combat token - which puts it at the top of the list for must haves when going into a dungeon...

An Elixer is a nice to have as a just in case...but maybe I'm in the minority, in 4 dungeon runs - I don't think I have ever seen an Elixer burned...so it hopefully gets used rarely - where the CoD gets used every combat...

The Girdle outweighs the RoE in my book - but RoE is in my top 5.
