TOPIC: True Dungeon Token Codex

True Dungeon Token Codex 12 years 9 months ago #1

Ladies, Gents, and all Others.

I have been working with Sam Waller of the RedDragonShoppe in crafting a leather bound True Dungeon Token Codex. We actually came up with 2 for this years con!

The first codex is a Necro themed book. Great for Dark Wizards and the dead loving all around.

The second codex is a Baby Dragon Hide enchanted stow. (I had to do something with that silly dead dragon's baby from last year).

To help sort all items an adventure may need are rare earth infused neodymium parchment dividers. All your gear and coin are certain to hold steadfast to these sheafs.

If you want one of these (or something in a Similar Vein), Sam said he can have another codex ready by Gencon so long as you let him know by 7/22/2011.

The Dragonhide will hold the same amount as a 3" binder.
The Necro will hold the same amount as a 5" binder.

Each magnetic locking sheet is about the width of a token filled sheet. Depending on how many magnetic parchments you want to use, reduce the amount of tokens it holds accordingly.

I'm setting up permanents and seldom used disposables into sealed sheets, and often used disposables/weapons in magnetic protected sheets. Essentially a magnet is centered about 1/4 low on each token. These suckers are very strong.

Included is a very small iron forged blade in matching sheath (that is firmly held in place). If I need to remove a seldom used disposable (like elixir's of life), it is a quick slit along the seal with this to retrieve it.

You can craft one of these as thin as 1/2" and as wide as desired.

The dragonhide is comfortable fully loaded and can be worn all day as I have it packed (at least by me). The necro is a bit heavy fully loaded: I would not want to carry it all day.

All in all, I am VERY happy with the end result.

Also, strapping was devised so if you want to overstuff or underfill the codex it can easily be so without stressing the unit and while still protecting the tokens

While the pictures do not do these justice, they really do not do the dragon hide tooling justice. This really does looked scaled!

Those are fantastic. Where did you get the magnet pages--did you make them?

Everything was crafted, including the magnetic pages and the forged blades. The brass hardware was NOT crafted.

Feel frees to give Sam a shout (contact in my first post) regarding pricing. It is dependent upon what you want done. For example, the dragon skin tooling takes a bit more time than the necro skull cutting.
