Get them while they are hot! They contain some info on the new 2006 tokens. Note that we are going to post a 2006 Player's Guide in a few days with complete info about how combat will be run this year -- including changes to Ranged Attacks.

http://www.truedungeon.com/true/tokens.htm

And be sure to check out Raven's Beginner's Token Guide.

Is that right in the guide that a monk can use the heavy crossbow, but not the heavy repeating crossbow?

That is correct. The Heavy Repeating Crossbow is a special weapon that only Fighters and Barbarians can use.

That's cool, I just wanted to double check... I just had that image of that cool repeating crossbow from "Oriental Adventures" in my head, so I wanted to make sure... (it would seem wrong to me, if the monk used anything but his hands anyhow)

Dave,

Looks good. Thanks for bringing this together.

A couple of corrections/suggestions for the Token Guide:

1) Page 3 - "Ranger: He must always use two weapons in melee". I think this needs to be changed to "Ranger may use one or two of the following one-handed weapons". I don't believe we are requiring a Ranger to use two weapons.
2) Page 11 - Weighted Net - Do you lose a turn after you have thrown to take out your weapon? If so, then a Fighter or Barbarian basically loses two attacks to lower the monster AC by two. We might mention this so people understand the downside.
3) Page 21 - Not all wands have 5 charges (Wand of Lighting Bolts)
4) Page 25 - The % chance that a Rumor is correct is listed as the only difference between rumors. What about the potency of the rumors? Shouldn't people expect significant information for a Very Rare Major Rumor instead of simply a minor rumor that is 25% more likely to be true?
5) Page 28 (#4) - Players can now throw Hand Axes.
6) Page 29 (#8) - I don't think we are throwing the Flame Arrow, correct? With the Ranged Rules, this will be slidden.
7) Blink Scroll - I'm not sure if we want to include them but for accuracy, there are a number of additional things that Blinking does, including 1/2 damage from falls, striking as an invisible creature (+2 to-hit), and the ability to walk through solid objects.

Thats it for now,
Douglas
Saw the Wand typo...

Here is one more...Page one says only Clerics and Bards can use Divine scrolls...on the scrolls page 13 (is it?) It says Druids can as well.

Also (not sure if this is a point Douglas said or not) - a hand axe can be held or thrown - so on one page it says the hand axe must be given to the DM if used...."used" means thrown but it does not have to be given if used as a melee weapon - OR can it even BE used as a melee weapon???

Looks GOOD!
It's obviosuly second edition blink, not 3.0 or 3.5 so there's no real reason those other effects would come into play. After all, you're literally teleporting from spot to spot randomly instead of doing the little stand in place ethereal jaunt. Thus, you shouldn't have an advantage hitting things also slightly out of phase nor the ability to go through objects.

Page 18: Under potion of invisibility, it should say 'boots' not 'cloak'.
Page 19: Under antitoxin, it should specify how many times you can burn anti-toxins to reroll.
Page 19: Under holy water, the phrasing suggests you only turn it in if you fail.
Page 19: Under Smokestick, It should probaly give the relevant game effect to attacking and being attacked while in the midst of the smoke.
Page 22: Under Elixer of Life, it should mention that living characters can gulp it for max HP.

General question: Is the UV thing still even active? I've had people burn tokens before and just had the DM tell them what they find with no light whozit.

Those effects come from the 3.5 rules which, I believe, of all the rule sets, we are following the closest.
Ya, but we're obviously not following 3rd edition blink. It wouldn't make any sense for blink as described to teleport you into solid matter. For one thing, you'd die. It can't be a mix and match in this case. Either blink sends you into the ethereal, in which case ya, you can move through solid whozits and see invis creatures better, or it moves you around bodily and jumps you about wherein the whole moving through solid objects dosen't make much sense, nor does the invisibility seeing.
