I can't imagine that the spell design was accidental or mistaken. It very carefully seems to pick and choose between 1st/2nd edition blink and 3.5. Certainly this wasn't a whoopsy where someone just jotted down the rules for an older version of blink because it adopts the miss % of 3.5. It seems sorta obvious that someone wanted to meld the game effect of blinking as teleporting with the mechanic effect of a 50% miss percentage. If it was a complete flubb you'd expect that it would have the old rules for blink on there mechanicwise, or that it would have the new description of blink.

I'm also not sure how the description could be outdated....wasn't this thing just put togehter and finalized like yesterday?

Anyway, simple enough to sort out in the end. TD seems to keep to the core of spell effects with not much of the secondary.

Henwy, are you honestly naive enough to think that people are infallable? That people never inadvertently mesh things or remember incorrectly? Perhaps someone was jotting down the rules from memory and mistakenly though the 3.5 Blink was based on teleportation. Or perhaps there were two versions (like Heidi mentioned) and someone merged them without realizing the difference between the two. There are a hundred things that could have resulted in an error. Further, given that TD is based on 3.5 D&D rules, AND that there isn't a clear reason (at least that I can see) to deviate from those rules, raises the question whether this was a mistake or not.

It might very well have been deliberate. I just raised the question for Dave.

Well, simple enough to just wait and see who's right and who's wrong.

Hurray! That was going to be my suggestion -> Wait for someone in an "official capacity" to provide a more clear explanation of the Blink spell instead of throwing guesses and assumptions around.

JKW
Anyone want to make wagers or are we just playing for pride and taunting rights?

Umm, Guys, the Blink tokens description was kindly provided and copied word for word from Mr. Martin. I would not assume we follow any pattern with respect to a rule set. Because we have sponsorship from WotC we try and follow the newest rule set as possible, however when that ruleset would make remembering all the various things a particular spell/token would /could do or unbalance the game. Jeff will abstract from them.

I will look into the other typos that have been identified, and clear that up for a new edition sometime in the next few weeks (after the players guide).

The Druid can not use short swords, that was some text I forgot to remove.

Dave

Quick question! I'm currently reworking the character sheet generator to be class specific and all that good stuff, and I ran in to an issue:

Rangers are listed as being able to use Masterwork Bolts, but cannot use any form of crossbow.

Rogues are listed as being able to use Short Bows, but cannot use Masterwork Arrows or Arrow of Slaying.

I'm guessing that's a slight type - I'm assuming rangers can't use the bolts, and rogues can use the arrows. Would that assumption be correct?

Thanks for the great guide!
