Ring of Heroism Ingredient Inquiry 9 years 3 months ago #1

Hey folks,

I know that nothing is set in stone, BUT, does anybody happen to recal if the Ring of Heroism (the 4c right?) will require 2012 monster bits (as well as 2013-2015)?

I'm asking because I know this year is the begenning of a new story arc and I wanted to make sure I was hanging onto the 2012 bits for a good reason...

Thanks much!

If I remember correctly, the the mutli-year relic actually required completion tokens, not ingredients. But, I may be wrong. I've been trying to find this info as well.

It will require 2 completion tokens from 2013+ for three years so 2013-2015 or someone starting next year could go and get 2014-2016. Plus a rare ring, and one of each trade token plus some gold.

Wow yeah I just saw this on the TokenDB:

The tentative 2015 recipe will require the following tokens to construct:

■1× Rare ring (it can be any ring, as long as it’s Rare)
■1× Alchemist’s Ink
■1× Alchemist’s Parchment
■1× Aragonite
■1× Darkwood Plank
■1× Dwarven Steel
■1× Elven Bismuth
■1× Enchanter’s Munition
■1× Golden Fleece
■1× Minotaur Hide
■1× Mystic Silk
■1× Philosopher’s Stone
■the equivalent of 1,000 GP
Plus either (not both) of these options:
■6× different Completion Tokens from at least three different years. You may not use more than two from the same year and all must be from 2013 or later.
*OR*
■3× different Volunteer Tokens from three different years. You may not use more than one from the same year and all must be from 2013 or later.

that being said - is there ANY reason to keep the hoards of 2012 monster bits I have? I could have sworn there was going to be a 4c created using them? No?

Looks like they get turned into fleeces...

Looks like the ring is not expensive after all. Other than the golden fleece everything else is relatively easy to acquire of not expensive.

The completion tokens: can they be green or red?

I've noticed that some of the 2013 transmutes listed monster bits from 2011, so I suppose it's conceivable your 2012 bits might be useful for some transmutes in 2014.

But even in those cases I mentioned, you can use just a couple hundred gold instead of the monster bit.

Dollar-value-wise, it appears that the 2012 bits are worth more towards a fleece or direct cash than they are alone. :/

No way I'd ever use a monster bit in place of a few hundred gold.

That is what I was thinking too. I have sets of 2012 due to thinking that they were going to still be useful.

Historically there has been a 4C token every other year. Monster tokens in the "off years" are fairly plentiful usually. They can still be used in other recipes though, I'm still considering using some from last year in Shirts of Shielding. :)

The ring is very inexpensive, compared to the Charm. And the Completion tokens can be red or green.
