TOPIC: How do you justify it?

How do I justify the cost? I enjoy it.<br /><br />Simple as that - it's something I love, so I'm willing to spend money supporting it.<br /><br />At this point, I've spent enough on tokens to buy a reasonable sized LCD flatpanel TV, or lots of other stuff, but the Tokens and TD give me more enjoyment.

I have a co-worker who is really into fishing.  Once per year, he charters a seaplane and goes to a cabin in Canada that can only be reached by air.  (He even has to fly in his food.)  That's passion for you...<br /><br />I am passionate about gaming.  I collect games, play games, study games - I'm even working on a card game of my own.  I *really* enjoy GenCon and True Dungeon is an extension of that (and my favorite event during the con).<br /><br />I'm fortunate that I'm at a place in my life where I have the funds available to be a little extravagant with my annual trip to GenCon which includes a giant sack of tokens.  If I didn't have the resources, I'll bring a loaf of bread and cooler full of lunch meat and do the entire con on the cheap.<br /><br />

I hope you know that I traveled last week and will be getting like $240 for per diem - I ate out twice a day each day for a week and spent at least 1/2 of the money I got and gained like 10lbs in the process ... if I spend any more on eating, I'll be a BALLOON by GenCon and well ... l just won't fit in my costume for TD ... <br /><br />> collecting tokens is ADDICTING<br /><br />Yes ... I know ... I have my eye set on one of those artisan tokens - the drow spider medallion ... I don't what I'm going to do if I can't get it ... ahhh .... guess I'll be saving my per diems next week ... and the week after that ... and the week after that ... god knows I don't want to be eating it ...

Wooden nickels are an excellent source of dietary fibre, too!

Haha - the Counter Strike: Source team I used to play for was called "Wooden Nickel." For some reason I didn't even think of the connection until reading Raven's post there, despite describing tokens as "Wooden Nickels" to dozens of people.<br /><br />Hahaha, it was my fate to be an addict!

<br />Okay ... I'm curious as to how those who love to buy Treasure Tokens justify the expense?<br /><br />For me, I travel for work and I get $40 per diem for meals which I don't completely spend ... so in my mind, I'm not spending my money on the tokens, my company is buying them for me!  <br />

<br /><br />To whom do I need to justify my spending?  I am a big boy and can spend my allowance any way I want to.  =D

I think I might need to get a new set of molars to grind those down ... I'll definately try to keep it in mind tho', but someone in the meantime might want to send a message to the TD designers about getting a proper FDA food label on the token bags.
