TOPIC: Wish Ring question

Wish Ring question 9 years 9 months ago #1

I have collected a few Wish Rings and I was planning on using them (possibly at Who's Yer Con in 2015) to fulfill the 15k gold requirement on a few Legendaries.

Reading the page on tokendb:

tokendb.com/token/wish-ring/

It looks like I can use it first and then still use it for 15k gold when making a legendary. Is that correct? It's confusing because it says it converts to only 1000GP after use so I wanted to confirm.

If so then I should definitely make sure I use it before I spend it, but I think my next opportunity would be at GenCon 2015. I also assume that if I want the free treasure draws from it then I'd have to wear it in one of my ring slots for a run?

if you dont use it it can be used(25 pulls etc) for a legendary item. if you use it for a legndary item it is gone, you dont get it back as a 1000GP item.
if you use it for the 25 pulls/healing entire party etc, then you get it back as a 1000GP item

If you use it, it is only good for 1K afterwards, and can't be used to fulfill a reserve bar requirement. You have to decide if any of those wishes is worth 14K :)

In other words, I think it has to be NOT used in order to make a Legendary with it. Not 100% sure though. Hopefully TPTB will chime in.

Token Database:

"This token only becomes a 1,000 GP value ring after it’s used in the adventure or coaching room to grant the user a wish. When used as an ingredient for a transmuted token, the player does not get a wish, does not get a 1,000 GP value ring, and the Wish Ring token is not returned to the player.

If the wish has been expended, this token may not be used to fulfill a Wish Ring requirement in a transmuted recipe. However, it may be used to fulfill a recipe’s GP requirement if the recipe does not require Reserve Bars."

I think this is what confused me, but now it seems clearer. Because a Legendary requires 15k in reserve bars, the wish ring must be unused to fulfill that.

However, if I had a used wish ring and I had a recipe that just needed say 3k gold, I could use the used wish ring as 1k of that.

Do I understand correctly?

The TDb entry for Wish Ring has been tweaked to (hopefully) make it clear how it can and cannot be used in a recipe.
