TOPIC: Combo/Cauldron Ingredient Token Marketplace

Re: Combo/Cauldron Ingredient Token Marketplace 17 years 11 months ago #13

How many of the 1C tokens will be available? (Will folks who run on Friday or Saturday still be able to get them?)

Supposedly an unlimited number, but who can really tell there.

BTW, I've got like 10 people going through runs thursday. If you want to make sure that you can get a 1C and you have later runs, I'd be happy to have it exchanged for you. Most of the people I'm going through with aren't token collectors so almost certainly won't mind doing the swap.
Based on those approximate total numbers of tokens I would guesstimate the number to be about 300 or so ever made between 2003-2005. How many of those are in circulation, who knows?

Dave

The Purify scroll is not in the 2005B print run (I double checked with the 2005B jpeg). That means that there were about 111 made.

I did not include the 2005B run. I did however make the mistake that the tokens were common not rare, if all the ratios were perfect then the number would be about 144, given not all the printings were necessarily proportional then your value of 111 is probably close.

We wont know firm numbers until they are actually printed, (Jeff tends to change his mind), but from our discussions there should be enough to last into Saturday.

Dave

It seems like the data can be derived on how many of each token were printed in each print run. It would be neat to see a table like Appendix A of the 2006 Token Guide, with the "X"s replaced by a number of how many of each token were printed in each print run, with totals on the right of total number of each token printed. Any volunteers?

It would be interesting to know, if any of the Cauldron Tokens are left over after GENCON, what happens to them. Are they going to be destroyed, or kept for distribution at GENCON SOCAL, or something else (like added to the treasure chests of random treasure from the dungeon)? The same with the tokens that are traded in for cauldron tokens or artisan tokens - for instance are the Scrolls of Purify Food and Drink that are cashed in going to be permanently off the market, or will they be reinserted into the collector's community via treasure in the dungeon or some other method? If this has been addressed in some other thread I'd appreciate it if someone could let me know where.
If there are any Combo tokens left over, we will take them to So Cal with us.

So it's unlikely socal will get combos offered unless there are leftovers? I assume the same goes for the artisan tokens?

I'm trying to figure out just how slapped around socal is going to be as the red-headed step child. I'm not sure whehter or not to go to socal this year and believe it or not, whether TD pulls out the stops for it has a good chunk to do with my attendance.

I am CERTAIN I heard from someone that there will be no combo tokens at So Cal, in fact no tokens at all, there will only be 4 rooms... no 3 rooms and they are going to leave all the upgrades in Indy.

Sorry henwy. We sure are going to miss you! :hello2:

I heard it's just going to be a tabletop minature game in SoCal.....made out of old cereal boxes.......and run by mimes.......with bad attitudes.

I should have be more clear. We will take them to So Cal to use WITH the other combo tokens.

And actually, So Cal benefits from a test run at Indy. Our event last Nov. was perhaps our best run ever. We do have certain budgetary constraints, but the dungeon is top-notch.

But, But, But,

I was looking forward to the video of Henwy dealing with cranky mimes.
