But.....but you can't.... :|

How about this spectacular, limited time only, offer: I will allow you to give me either one of your RoE's in exchange for first rights to either desired item listed above that I may happen to find during the course of adventuring.

Now does that seems fair or what!

Perhaps "can't refuse" was not the proper term to use... :)

The offer is open until I manage to find the two tokens I'm looking for. If you happen to find a spare in your adventures, let me know. (I'll be hanging around the Tavern and will have my tokens with me, so I can close these deals at the con. I'm also rooming with Josh Berling, so if he's in the Tavern and I'm not, he should know how to find me.)

I've pretty much figured that I'm SOL at least until after the con, but I wanted to get my offer on the table.

Sooo... is that a "No" on the advance security payment token? How about if we just call it a retainer fee? =D

Guess we'll just have to see how fate deals us our tokens.

While that is a tempting offer, I think I'll wait for a more solid deal. :) (See what I mean - now I'm refusing!)

Of course, I'm planning to need a couple Potions of Bull Strength to haul our group's treasure out of the dungeon, so I may just take fate into my own hands... (Hey, I managed to best Death last year and went on to defeat a Hardcore maralith with only our trusty Bard at my side. Fate digs me...)

Seems to me to be less of a refusal than a barter in the works.

Reminds me of the "suffering" trader who convences the other that the trade is something they do not want to do, but will for mercy of the other. I'm not saying that right, but it reminds me of a trade market and all the banter that goes with it. lol.

"Oh, I can't trade you this, it means so much to me, but for............maybe I can give it up, knowing it is you....."

"No you shouldn't. It must be a family heirloom, but if you insist......."

You know what I mean...... lol.

Would it help if I said I was planning to adventure on behalf of the orphans of Greyhawk and wanted to ensure the return of their benefactor? :)

And those two things are:

1. A sucker born every minute
2. Someone willing to provide what the sucker thinks he needs

OR is it?

1. Death
2. Elixir of Life

OR

Naaah.

It is just one thing. Some cowboy from a dude ranch told me that as we stood on the bluff, but he died before he could tell me what it was.

Widseth

Death and the Elixir of Life are mutually exclusive. :)

People who are patient and resourceful typically get what they're looking for. I've been a collector in many different genres over the years and have learned that things appear when and where you least expect them.

Case in point: I have a collection of Department 56 Christmas in the City buildings. There was one accessory I was missing - the kids on a school field trip that went with the art museum. I never stopped looking and, after 7 years, I finally stumbled across them in a shop while visiting San Diego. Patience and persistance are key skills for collectors. :)

I'm being a little more aggressive in this case because I know these purps are extremely rare and will remain so even after three days of dungeon runs. Plus, I figure that when they do make an appearance they will be at most one trade away from their place in a permanent collection and therefore wanted to increase my chances of being that trade.

I'm going to be keeping an eye on eBay post-con as well, but figure that folks coming out of the dungeon with ones to trade will be talking to traders who are regulars here.

I'm sure you will eventually find them, and best wishes in your quest. Quests are the medium of dreams. Isn't that what we do in TD--ahhh waxing philosophically is taxing. (yes, taxing--that might be one of those two things).

Widseth
