TOPIC: So how much did the jewelry tokens go for?

So how much did the jewelry tokens go for? 17 years 8 months ago #1

And more importantly, are they being considered for SoCal?

The low item went for 40GP the high item went for 15,000.

The next two lowest went for 600ish and most went for 3-4000.

The bad thing about the Elven Armband that went for 40...most deep pocket players were staying away from that item as it was pegged for Heidi, sadly most of us forgot to appoint a bidder who could still bid on the last day to actually get the item - so it went for the crazy low price of 40GP.

Heidi aside, there is a part of me who thinks it is kinda cool that someone who placed a low holding bid, probably not expecting to win, managed to walk away with a cool token.

Dave

I think that happend a few times:

I believe George was happy/surprised that his 600 bid won...

I was very happy my 1255 won...

Now what would have been crazy fun is if the winning bidder was allowed to eBay bid - i.e. win the auction by just one GP over the second highest bid... I suspect that items would have gone for a lot less if that were the method - but it was understood that this was to be a GOLD SINK to help dry up some of the coffers in the realm. That said - I can't see this running every year with items staying above 3000 each. (That is unless Tokens Anonymous is getting a steady stream of new members...hmmm, time to rent a bigger hall for our meetings just in case.)

I'm with Dave, I think it was really cool that someone got one for 40g.p.
The jewelry biding was really a cool touch this year. Just think if they had mystery purple magic items for bid :)

Like bidding on an unknown PURP??? OR something like bidding on a draw from a bag of PURPS???

They could do this bid thing - totally blind and take the top five bidders...

You know I think GOLD is going to DRY up really fast with all these good ideas.

Mouth watering...

I love the bid for a draw from a bag of purps idea. I have next to 0 gold now but I would TRY to bid for a pick from a bag of purps.

JKW
That is the beauty of having the top 5 bidders win...you may have 3 really high bid makers win and then 2 surprise low bidders win.

hmmm perhaps this is a COOL idea for a tavern fund making entrepreneur - it is different than JB's grab bag...has the appeal of the Artisan auction...won't dilute tokens like Henwys token box...hmmmmm

But Gary how do you console the person who spent 3,000 GP for a grab and got a 10 point healing potion.

Easy - build the grab bag with comperable tokens and make only one UBER prize...

I would suggest +1 RED weapons, the better RED "perms" and then maybe a PURP weapon or "perm"

That could see a few bids in the 000's... right?
