TOPIC: Clarification on multi-year Monster Bit transmute

Clarification on multi-year Monster Bit transmute 1 year 11 months ago #1

I noticed something Jeff mentioned in the 2023 Transmute beta token thread and wanted to break this out.

Are the 2020-2022 MB no longer planned for a transmute? We have been saving a couple sets from each year but if they have no utility outside of currently existing transmutes, we would trade them in for GF.

(Edit: understood that 2022 may be used in a 2023 recipie)

I'd say wait a little longer. Things are still subject to change and you cant in transmute. But ya at the moment that's what it seems.

I think this is the last reference Druegar made on the topic. truedungeon.com/forum?view=topic&catid=5&id=253371#411223

Here's hoping their fun idea gets implemented this time around.

Definitely and I'm not even advocating that we need to know WHAT this is this cycle - I do not want to derail all the token conversations in progress for what is essentially a small thing. If we hear there will still be a "fun but not necessary" MB transmute in another 1-5 years using MB since 2020 - we will keep holding them for that fun!

We just are not token collectors so tokens with playability or transmutability are our focus. If the current value of 2020 MBs is only GF then we would plan to exchange them in our next order.

Right there with you. Not a collector, but do hang onto some things "just in case". More than happy to clear them out once I know they won't provide any additional benefit other than GF. It's kind of the same with completion tokens. Will they ever be used for a transmute? Some of those might actually be useful to some players if I don't need them.

Possible suggestions for a 4C transmute, consolidated from the transmute beta thread:

*Move UR greaves to Relic and make them use Bits as a recipe, and / or TBO greaves as a recipe.

*3 regen ioun stone

*Grunnel’s gift consumable (maybe gives sub race - goblin?)

*Move Funnel of Grunnel Ultra Rares to Relic

*Reprint Soul Coffer with a new token name

^ This! I actually loved that greaves we're Treasure box only, a higher end pair should be something generated from the treasure box, not something from 10 packs.

Well heck - now this DOES belong back in the Transmute Token discussion thread!! I honestly was thinking it was still more than a year out, so I did not want to cause confusion with this question in that discussion.

Just to quickly chime in on something with the 4C:

I think it makes sense for a Grunnel-related item to be a 4C token with the VTD monster bits. Something light and fun, not powerful. Much as we all love our puzzle master goblin, it's very much an in joke to the VTD crowd. Something doesn't quite feel right about having that in the main set, but it fits perfect with a low powered "fun" 4C.

Edit: Fixed typo to say "something light and fun, not powerful" which is what I intended :)
