TOPIC: Question on selling extra CoA

Question on selling extra CoA 1 year 3 weeks ago #1

The CoA is supposed to have some RFID chip thing right? Do we have to notify TD if we sell/trade it to another person? Are there any other tokens with the RFID that we'd need to do this for?

Hi Andalushia,

You do not need to notify TD management of any third party token sales. The Charm of Avarice does have an RFID in it which allows it to be scanned for authenticity, which is why it has no metal core. You can download the Token Validator app for your phone assuming it has NFC/RFID scanning capabilities, and validate the COA yourself, as well as you may be asked to validate it during a True Dungeon run. This lets you and other players not have to worry about counterfeits, but TD does not maintain any ownership list for tokens.

Beware that there were multiple versions of the CoA printed, only one of which is still usable in game.

If you are buying or selling make sure you understand which you are looking at, whether the unusable 2015 Relic and 2016 Legendary version, or the usable 2019 legendary version, which has the RFID chip.

Thanks for the info and no worries. I have a couple AoTF I was going to work on transmuting into CoA and I wanted to make sure I followed the proper protocols when trading extra ones.

Right now the monetary value of 7 Amulet of Treasure Finding is probably substantially greater than the value of a Charm of Avarice. If you've got a bunch of Amulet of Treasure Finding you could just sell those directly. I would expect you could get at least $320 each out of them, and maybe over $400.

In terms of transmute value, 1 AotF is worth 4 PYP.

If you're going to wear it for awhile, it has more value.
