I've gotten destroyed mail from the USPS that was basically confetti in a bag that happened to have a large enough chunk they could read my address. It may not get to you in one piece, but your mail almost always gets to you

To add to this; I actually shipped a trade to Alan P back in mid 2023. The USPS yeeted the package into a black hole without remorse. I insured it. They said it was delivered despite the fact that it never showed up. I'm out the ~120 in trade goods and USPS wont cash in the Insurance. It's not always ideal.

My temporary solution has been to tape VERY well and to require a signature. In 99% of cases thus far this has resolved the carrier losing the package or it arriving damaged issue. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I have very little confidence in USPS insurance. I had a package that their own records showed was delivered to the wrong address, and the person I sent it to never got it (of course), but they still refused to pay the insured amount.

TDA shipped 2 boxes to me. Dec 30 label made, and picked up by USPS…they arrived in St. Louis COB dec 30th. Since then, one went to Knoxville, then arrived here on Jan 2nd. The other says delivery tomorrow, but it’s last scan has it somewhere 3 states west in Kansas. Yay! I just don’t know how they had both in hand and sent one here and one out west.

Update: Jan 3rd came and gone and nothing, now it says the package hasn’t been scanned in since it arrived at the St. Louis center with its partner. USPS says it’s on its way, late, to the next facility… but they don’t know which facility…. The 5th is over and no update yet. Though PayPal tracking still says it’s in Kansas but I think that’s just a glitch

Our USPS gem this year (actually 2024, even though it shouldn't have been): earlier this week we got a package returned. Mitchell had spent like $18 (since it was perishable) shipping a huge box of holiday treats and cookies to two of his siblings. It gets returned like 3 weeks later...why...because they put a label over the address that had the full info that just had first names and the city and sent it back for "insufficient address information"...you peel the added label back and the full address was underneath -_-
