Would a reminder that Rangers using Ralson’s Animal Friend can ignore the class limitation, and a link to Ralson’s tokendb entry be appropriate for the general trinket text?

Ralson's Pendant of the Elder Yew explicitly says it can use any polymorph potion or trinket. In addition, that bit of information is going to be irrelevant to all but a very small number of trinket users. Also, no polymorph potion lists ranger on its class list and I'm not aware of any issues that have cropped up regarding that. Therefore, I'm disinclined to add Ralson's info to every single trinket's description. It's a very reasonable question though. 🙂

Clarification on interaction with Ralson’s Pendant of the Elder Yew (better placed on that page than as general Trinket template)
Rangers with Ralson's can turn in a Polymorph Potion for an Animal Friend. Do Rangers need to respect the (1/game) per physical token limitation? Said another way, would a Ranger need to collect seven to use one in each of seven rooms, as they would with Potions today; or can they get away with just one?

Clarification on interaction with Iktomi’s Shaper Necklace (better placed on that page than as general Trinket template)
Druids with Iktomi's can use a Polymorph Potion without turning it in. Does Iktomi's lift the (1/game) restriction? Said another way, can a Druid use a single physical Trinket to Polymorph (and revert, then shift back, just because they can) in each of seven rooms, as they could with a single Potion today; or would they need to collect seven (or more, if they want to revert)?

Reason for clarification: unanswered questions pertaining to high-end equipment that may make Trinkets and Potions provide a different experience.

Does Iktomi's lift the (1/game) restriction?

Yes and no, respectively.
Both Ralson's Pendant of the Elder Yew and Iktomi's Shaper Necklace now specify that's the case.

The restriction not being lifted by Iktomi's is puzzling and disappointing. Why would a high-end Iktomi's user want more Trinkets to be designed instead of more Polymorph Potions, when the latter is overall cheaper (and/or more profitable) for them? I can either acquire seven Trinkets for each dungeon (or more if I want to be able to revert), or acquire a single Potion instead (and sell -- or not spend money on -- the rest).
(That said, this thread probably isn't the best place to debate this. Next year's token design thread, though....)

Initially, we wanted to make trinket compatibility between Ralson's and Iktomi's consistent with each other. However, since Iktomi's doesn't expend a polymorph potion (Ralson's definitely does), it seems reasonable to make Iktomi's not expend the trinket's 1/game limit. The TDb description for Iktomi's has been updated to state that explicitly.

Thank you for the quick response and update!

Off the top of my head, I think Trinkets are now consistent with Polymorph Potions, except (a) neither Elf Wizards nor Wizards can use them (as intended); (b) it takes no Action to activate (as intended), and as a result does not interact (or need to interact) with items such as Tulz that remove the Action cost; and (c) you keep the token, to be reused in the next dungeon (as intended).

(Okay, technically, you can use a Polymorph Potion on a Chalice of Conversion but not a Trinket, so it's not full parity, but c'mon; we all know that you weren't really going to burn one for 4 healing, and just bringing it up for the sake of bringing it up. Wait, what do you mean I'm bringing this nitpicky point up solely for the sake of bringing it up?)

If I think of more differences between Polymorph Potions and Trinkets; or if I note anything else with the Trinket template in this thread, I'll raise them here.

As long as you're updating Iktomi's, maybe change:

"One may not polymorph into more than one creature (nor into different elemental sub-types) per room, but transforming into and out of the same creature more than once per room is allowed–assuming one has the means to do so."

To:

"Iktomi's allows one to polymorph into more than one creature (and/or into different elemental sub-types) per room. Transforming into and out of the same creature more than once per room is also allowed–assuming one has the means to do so."

That would help distinguish Iktomi from the Trinkets, without having to wait until 2026 for the proposed Class Legendary rebalancing. This seems like a pretty simple change, and is the one that most people in the previous thread seemed in favor of.

Clarification request: can a Druid activate a Trinket outside of combat; e.g., in a puzzle room?

Reason for clarification: with Potions, there was little reason to do so as a Druid would turn one in for almost no benefit. With specifically a Trinket of Trollform, however, a Druid could activate one in a puzzle room to regenerate 2 HP for free, provided they had sufficient copies remaining for their combat (or Iktomi's).

Related clarification request: can a Druid activate Iktomi's (or its Relic/UR forms; or a Potion Polymorph (Asp) with Iktomi's) in a non-combat room to take advantage of a Polymorphed form's Damage Resistance? I believe puzzles themselves deal untyped or Eldritch damage, but environmental damage (e.g., lava for Fire or glacial rivers for Cold) occasionally exists. It would be good to have an answer to this, and have it be consistent with Trinkets too.

Even though each specific trinket token may only be used once per adventure, one may bring and use as many trinket tokens as desired into the adventure, same-named or differently-named, it doesn’t matter.

Tiny nit / suggested edit: [...] into the adventure: same-named [...]

Reason for edit: run-on sentence.
Sorry, I noticed and it started bothering me; you can ignore this suggestion and few people would actually care.
