Greets.

I've created a new Token Collection spreadsheet.

http://home.comcast.net/~jkwmisc/TD/Token_Collection_Blank.xlt

I would appreciate it if you would please have a look at it and provide feedback. In addition to general feedback, I've highlighted some items in yellow. I'd appeciate your input in validating the data related to those items. Thank you.

"Credits" were added to the spreadsheet to give thanks to those who inspired this project.

I have a column set aside for the 2007 tokens when they are available. Once Jeff has given the okay (perhaps when the tokens go on sale?), I'll add the 2007 tokens to the spreadsheet.

Thank you and I hope you find the spreadsheet useful,

JKW
John,

I believe the mugs started in 2005 - and I am pretty sure only 2005B backs exist in the mugs...

There is one more mug to add - Bucknard's Everfull Mug - which was the Volunteer appreciation gift in 2005. Pretty sure this just had Dragon backs...

The Bag of holding as far as I know has only showed up in binders...not sure what year back it got.

Keen Edge has been around for a long time - I think in every set.

G

I think I had the first spreadsheet that became public shareware - could be wrong (and there could be a thread someplace in the forum).

I think the thing I did inspired Evan to do spin offs and improvements...Douglas had one, I think and maybe Will too???

Color is good - I think the only big difference in what I use and yours is that I have it smaller so I have two columns of Token items - and I have my Ultra Rares in a class by themselves.

Does anyone know if the Mugs were Green or Brown?

Modifications:
Moved Mug of Brawling to Weapons (per Token Guide).
Added Bucknard's Everfull Mug (thank you, Gary).
Added "volunteer appreciation gift" coloring. Applied to Ring of Three Wishes, Ring of Regeneration, Bucknard's Everfull Mug.

Would appreciate:
Confirmation from a TD Official regarding which printings the mug tokens were in and if they were brown or green.
Information regarding the "Staff +2" found on the spreadsheet. Any information would be good. Thank you.
Bag of Holding: which printings this was available in and whether or not it was ever available as treasure in the dungeon or only as part of a store purchase (binder).
Medium Rumor: printings verification. The Token Guide and the original spredsheet that I used differ.
Minor Rumor: printings verification. The Token Guide and the original spredsheet that I used differ.
Detect Poision potion: printings verification. The Token Guide and the original spredsheet that I used differ.

Thank you!

JKW

Mug tokens are:

Brawling - GREEN - dragon back
Bucknard - can't locate at the moment...but now I am thinking it was a PURP and a .com...

Pretty sure the Staff +2 was just a TYPO from our lists...

My three Bags of Holding are 2005B Dragon backs

HEre is the Rumor breakdown... any place there is a 1 - that means I have at least one.

ODDS N ENDS 2003 2004 2005 2005b+ 2006
medium rumor 0 1 xxxx xxxx xxxx
minor rumor 0 1 xxxx xxxx 1
major rumor xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx 1
Special ? 1 0 xxxx xxxx xxxx
Special ?? 0 0 xxxx xxxx xxxx
Special ??? 0 1 xxxx xxxx xxxx

The bad thing about RUMOR tokens - they were not printed in the PHOTOs of the tokens...so even though I have the photo of 2004 tokens they are not there - but we know they existed...they also existed in 2003 or so I am told.

As for Detect poison - it is a scroll not potion...

It was common in 2004 common in 2005A RARE in 2005B

G
Thank you, Joyus and Gary.

I apparently mistyped above (potion instead of scroll). At least it's in the correct spot in the spreadsheet. :)
The TG (token guide) shows the Detect Poison scroll as: 2003: Common, 2004: Common, 2005a: Rare, 2005b: Rare.
Am I right that you are saying you actually have: 2003: ??, 2004: Common, 2005a: Common, 2005b: Rare?
If so, I'll list is as 2003 Common, 2004 Common, 2005a Common, 2005b Rare instead of what the TG shows.

Updated:
Fixed the spreadsheet's listing of the "early TD terminology" regarding rarity of tokens. I had mistakenly used "uncommon" instead of "rare."
Updated Detect Poision Scroll per above.
Deleted Staff +2
Updated:
Bucknard's Everful Mug: Changed to Purple.
Minor and Medium Rumor: Stuck with what the TG shows. I'm assuming they did not exist in 2003.
Specials: The text states these were all available in 2003 AND 2004. The Appendix chart shows the ? and ?? to be 2003 and the ??? to be both 2003 and 2004. I am assuming the Text is correct and that the chart is mistaken. Updates are welcome however....obviously one of the two entries in the TG needs to be updated.

Okay...I need to research this and I'd rather not open a can of worms again...but, can someone refersh my memory as to what a .com is? That is, is that what Purple 2005b tokens were? Are any of the 2005b Purple tokens printed with the dragon symbol instead of the .com?

Standard Mugs: The only questions left: 1) were they available in all of 2005 or just the 2005b printing? As the TG says they were available at the Tavern, I am leaning towards assuming they were only in the 2005b printing?. 2) what color were they? I am assuming Brown (although I marked it with the "store purchase" color, so I'm not sure it matters.

Uploaded latest file.

Specials existed in 2003 - at least the single ? did - as I have one.

ODDS N ENDS 2003 2004 2005 2005b+ 2006
Special ? 1 0 xxxx xxxx xxxx
Special ?? 0 0 xxxx xxxx xxxx
Special ??? 0 1 xxxx xxxx xxxx

.com were the first tokens ever...the time spot tokens used in 2003.

Then in 2005 when PURPS were born - .com were the backs of the first set of PURPS.

I believe there are some mis-print 2005B (or is it A) PURPS out there that are ULTRA-RARE... Sort of like some of the SPIDER set that got printed with DRAGON backs...you know about those - right...Elven chain, Plate and the Longbow +1 are all part of SPIDER - but got printed with DRAGON backs.

The way you tell SPIDER tokens mis-printed as DRAGON is the +1 longbow did not exist yet, same goes for Elven chain...and as for Plate...well the +8 to AC text is worded differently...I have one of each of these and can take a photo if you want. I think these are the only three that show up as mis-prints for 2006.

G

Thank you, Gary.

As noted above, I left the spreadsheet as having the Specials in both 2003 and 2004 and I assumed the Text was correct and the Chart was incorrect.

I hadn't paid much attention to the token part of the boards. I vaguely remember receiving an Elven chain with a dragon back. I'd have to check. I haven't kept a list, so I appreciate it.

Hm....SO...in order to make the spreadsheet truly valuable to a Collector, I'd have to add back in a .com for the Purples (which may be one reason you had the Purples broken out in a group of their own, besides it just looked cooler that way), and I'd have to add in locations for all the Misprints. Hey...maybe that's what I can do...add a separate header for Misprints or perhaps put those on another page, although I like all of my stuff on one page if possible.

Thank you again for all the help.

JKW
So one thing you may want to consider - the PURPS you have as 2005B - they are actually .com. YES - that is exactly why my UR tokens are in a class by themselves...

It wasn't until SPIDER that the PURPS (OFFICIALLY) got the same year stamp as the tokens made that year.

I can't be certain that all the .com PURPS got made as Dragon backs - in fact I think I remember Jeff saying that only a hand-full of certain ones got thrown in to fill up a row when printing them up.

The way you would have picked up a DRAGON back EChain or +1 Longbow or Plate - was in the Training room shop - all the REDS in there were the batch that got printed with Dragon Backs - even if they were only in SPIDER.

G

The way I deal with mis-prints...I make a * in the cell and a *note to the far right saying what is in my collection...
