TOPIC: So... what UR's are people picking?

So, people have analyzed the Ultra-rares, but when push comes to shove, what Ultra rare do you think (or did you) pick?<br /><br />I selected the dragonscale armor... was thinking of playing the druid this year anyhow, and it upgrades that class more than any other piece of equipment upgrades any other class I'd be interested in... the only other one I thought to take was the "?" one just because I like randomness. <br /><br />For those that didn't buy the 25 pack (or larger) if you could just pick 1 UR what would it be, and why?

I decided on the Horn of Plenty. Even with my “bad” luck drawing tokens I may be able to get something really good. Last year I got the same token out I had placed in Henwy’s box. Not the same exact token but the same design. What were the odds of that?  I guess 100%. So I felt I needed some serious help.<br /><br />Larry<br />

I would pick Cloak of the Mage and/or the Ring of Focus because the Wizard is my fave class.<br /><br />Brian<br />

I picked the Dragonscale Armor for two reasons.  One, it is usable by the druid.  Second, choosing between it and the plate armor I figured the Dragonscale was more likely to be discontinued after this year like the shield.  I wish the shield had been carried over another year.<br /><br />Kim

For those of us who are not able to complete sets, does it make more sense to go for the ones that are likely to be present only for a year, or does it make more sense to get ones that optimise our character. I prefer to go with optimization, as it impossible to know with Jeff deciding things what will be in the set next year. If I had to guess, many of the "popular" items will stay(the +2 longsword is still here, and the universally loved elixir got changed to purple status). It's anybody's guess what might happen with the "unpopular" ones.

I had the same thoughts, pick tokens that are seen as "best" but might be around awhile, or ones that are pretty cool but likely to show up only one year?<br /><br />I think it's much more likely that even some of the mainstays (+1 Plate, Girdle of Hill Giant Strength, +2 Longsword) might be rotated out now that Jeff has let people pick their PURPs.  If anyone was really dying to have a +1 Plate for instance, this year they could have just picked it.  Expendables like the Elixer could be an exception, because you could get one each year and use it.  <br /><br />Mike<br /><br />

I'm giving the Dragonscale Armor to the friend who introduced me to TD.  He wanted one of the two armor tokens and we came to the conclusion that the Dragonscale armor had greater usability.  All we need now are Dragonscale gauntlets and a Dragonscale helm!  =D<br /><br />Kim

I picked the Nightshade's Short Sword for my Kim, and the Horn of Plenty for me. The others coming later were the Mithril Shirt, and the Ioun Stone.

I didn't know his answer - I was anticipating requesting more than one of each  ;/
