TOPIC: 2007 Token Exchange

From one of the recent Newsletters:  <br />"Token Exchange<br /><br />On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights from 5:00-7:00om inside the True Tavern we will hold a token exchange.  This is your chance to turn in some old tokens you don’t want – in exchange for a free random upgrade of a 2007 token.  For instance, you can turn in 25 old Common tokens (any year), and you can draw a random Uncommon token from a box.  The exchange formula is as follows:<br /><br />25 Common [Brown] = 1 Uncommon<br />10 Uncommon (or Rare pre-2007) [Dark Green] = 1 Rare<br />25 Rare (or Very Rare pre-2007) [Red] = 1 Ultra Rare<br /><br />You are limited to 5 exchanges, and then you must go to the back of the line.  Each random pull will be from a random treasure box much like those inside the dungeon.  Only the core 140 tokens in the 2007 set will be available inside the boxes.  Limited to available supplies."<br /><br />To recap a concern that presented itself:  It was indicated that initial thoughts had been to have 12 URs available period.  Major token purchasers indicated they were likely to cash in at least 125 Reds for 5 Purps.  This times say at least 5-10 people would mean 25-50 Purps.  Last I knew, the TD Directors were going to give this some more thought.<br /><br /><br />Sorry to pester you for yet one more thing... however, since Tokens are in our hands NOW, could we please find out the current plans for this?  It'll really help us figure out what we are and are not willing to trade this weekend and between now and the Con.<br /><br /><br />John<br />JKW

Oh, another interesting idea I had regarding the token exchange (to make it harder to trade in for the UR's) is to instead of upping the # of Reds you need to trade in, you can put limits on the types of Reds. In particular, maybe do something like: 25 Reds, but each Red has to be different! That also helps maintain the value of the Purps, since you can't trade 25 Thunderstones or 25 Oils of Ghost Touch for a Purple. Instead, you need a variety, so you can't simply unload all of your crappy Reds. Thoughts?<br /><br /><br />

I like it.  Although I think 1 UR per person is also a good way to limit trade-ins for URs.  =)

<br /><br />Not a bad thought, although it does make it a bit more complex.  I like the idea of substantially increasing the number of reds for a PURP, since clearly it is well below the threshold now.<br /><br />I'll bet Gary would be happy to trade someone for their 25 Thunderstones.  

25 !!!  OH Yes please!  Send me them WOODEN TStones...I want them for breakfast!<br /><br />So I guess the official ruling on the EXCHANGE is pending...it may happen - it may not - it may get changed here and there - it may stand pat.<br /><br />(my money is "it may get changed" - anyone tell me why...?  heheheehee)
