TOPIC: The Problem with the Common Distribution...

Re: The Problem with the Common Distribution... 16 years 10 months ago #85

My goodness that's a lot of rework.

Where can I bring mine to get mine resorted? j/k

So, what's the plan for the token party next year?
If going back to old methods, will the tokens at least come one type of token per humongo bag or something? You don't actually have to sort through a semi-truck of Mixed tokens to separate by type and then put them all back into mixed piles of ten, do you? OMGoodness.

I do not know. I guess it depends on the manufacturer and what they might offer.

It is poor Lori who gets to start all this.

I guess she could just dump them into a box and shake them up.

I had wondered about opening each stack, checking them and pulling out the dups and randomly re-seeding the stack with a respective draw from another source to just replace the duplicates.

We will have to see what Lori comes up with as she goes.

Dave
Is this a possibility...?

Could the Common slots be further broken down into required categories?

Say for example:

Money
Money
Gear
Gear
Weapon/armor
Weapon/armor
Weapon/armor

If the machines could be told to be certain that above guide is followed - maybe the most repeats we would ever see would be 3 and that would not be too likely given the number of weapons and armor out there...

An alternate solution would be for Lori to replace the Dups with tokens from the all-PURP box, and then set the stacks carefully aside for my next order...

Here this takes more things into consideration...

Money = 1 of 8 chips (counting minor rumor)
Scroll/potion = 1 of 9 (counting holy water)
Scroll/potion = 1 of 9 (counting holy water)
Gear = 1 of 8 chips
Gear = 1 of 8 chips
Weapon/armor 1 of 15 chips
Weapon/armor 1 of 15 chips

Now at worst case - only a chance of a PAIR of items...

If this is possible, it solves the problem and uses the machine to do it...IF it can be done that is...

and if it is deemed that weapons and armor are so important...

Maybe give them each their own slots...

Weapon = 1 of 10 chips (not counting arrow)
Armor = 1 of 4 chips
Money = 1 of 8 chips (counting minor rumor)
Scroll/potion = 1 of 9 (counting holy water)
Scroll/potion = 1 of 9 (counting holy water)
Gear = 1 of 9 chips (counting arrow)
Gear = 1 of 9 chips (counting arrow)
