To figure the value of the plats is easy.  You take the square of the hypotenuse of the radius of said token and divide by the color grade shift from gold to platinum.  Then you take the owners height times their weight, making sure to allow for the earth's rotation and the tilt of the axis of the earth.  Throw that all over the temperature plus the rate of global warming and poof.  Easy-peasy.  So what's the big confusion?<br /><br />Joe

<br />Well I would debate that a little...<br /><br />For set builders 1 of 40 is 1 of 40...if the last one you are missing is the PLAT Thunderstone...it could be easily 2X the value of Guide in my eyes...3X just to be done with it...<br /><br />You agree John - you feel like that for the Sword and CLW you are missing?<br />

<br /><br />Unfortunately, that's they way this thing goes.  Supply and demand.  The "demand" seems higher (whether it really is or not) when it's the last few tokens you need, so it's likely that people are either going to ask more, or you are going to offer more if you're trying to finish a set.<br /><br />As for the x2 value I traded - 1) Perhaps I should have asked around with heavy traders first to get a consensus on how much everyone thinks these are worth; 2) It helped a lot of people out and seemed to make everyone in the trade happy, including myself.<br /><br /><br />Douglas had good points about consumable vs permanent (but that's already figured into the guide price for the GOLD tokens) as well as rarity.<br /><br /><br />

I'm not in the PLAT set hunt to make a race out of it - I'm in it for fun...if it takes me longer to do a PLAT set than a PURP set, that is fine and dandy with me...as long as it is fun trying, and I meet new people to trade with and so on and so on...<br /><br />Personally, I'll be a little sad once the PLAT set is done...It was the new PERK for 07 and the CON is not even here yet.
